The moment each and every person had been waiting for finally arrived. The clock struck and the hour had passed. It was felt throughout every individual who had lost it: Their powers and abilities were coming back. No longer was anyone EQUAL, once more the playing ground was unfair.
Many people were annoyed, but something within a few of them changed. They had a taste of what many felt everyday, the powerlessness, defenselessness. Some scoffed at the simple hour, calling it useless and wasteful of what could of been a brilliant trap, others had a new perspective ‘People felt like that everyday? They shouldn’t feel like that...’ and others were impressed simply by the display of power. After all it couldn’t be easy to cast such a spell let alone create one. And now they knew Wyatt had it within his back pocket in case the occasion for it ever arose. For many, it was a distasteful thought.
But where was the birthday boy? Where was that next speech and that satisfied look on his face? Some people waited, but Wyatt Halliwell was nowhere to be seen - and just as people started to leave the lights began. They were, in fact, GLORIOUS. Beautiful and shining, a beacon of hope. So many stopped, if only for a second, to watch them. Entranced by their loveliness.
A perfect distraction, not just from everyone’s eagerness to use their powers.
Unbeknownst to all who attended the party, something special was going on behind the scenes…
Even we cannot tell you why nobody noticed the man, covered in blood, that rushed up to Arcadius and told him that he would take his offer and join his army as long as they could talk first. Jace Callaghan and a very amused devil disappeared into a secluded room, but they were not the only ones. Chris AND his brother Wyatt Halliwell were soon to follow and as it turns out, not everyone played fair tonight. The three men used their magic, which remained intact, to trap the evil spirit and before long two more faces disappeared from the party: Those of Hope Mikaelson and Kat Mitchell. Who would have thought that the devil himself could be fooled into digging his own grave? Arcadius spent months recreating his most powerful weapon with his beloved student: Hellfire. Due to Kat’s knowledge and Hope’s sheer force of magic, the five of them destroyed what used to be the most feared being in town.
Congratulations, Mystic Falls. There is nothing left to fear, not from Cade anyway. That evil entity is dead and gone.
Upon their departure, many were shocked to find the entryways to Mystic Falls no longer guarded by Cade’s minions. There was no barrier of any sort preventing them from leaving, and so many did. In fact many sprinted out of there, without looking back. Not many gave a thought to the ‘coincidence’ that Cade’s forces disappeared during the night of Wyatt’s party.
Though many fled Mystic Falls, others chose to remain. What had used to be a prison, became a home for them. Not only that, but now it was arguably the destination to go to if you wanted to see the war with your eyes. After all, during their time trapped it became a home base, both for the Resistance and Wyatt’s faction.
Cade may be gone, but the war is still ongoing and only time can tell if a temporary alliance turns into something real. Besides, threats have always loomed over Mystic Falls and others, inspired by Cade’s interference, were beginning to rise. Cade’s fire may have been extinguished but it ignited a SPARK. One for chaos and destruction, and one that would grow…
Or is there really a chance of finding peace?
No one sans who was involved in it knows about Cade’s demise, unless they are being told about it.
The borders to Mystic Falls are officially open, anyone could go anywhere now.
You can continue threads from the event to wrap them up, but please don’t start new ones at the location. New starters could be set during the same night, if you wish.
