There is an announcement coming today! It's 15 minutes away! Hold on to your hat and your heat, cause we're gonna get crazy with art!
Want to win a FREE copy of J.M. Frey and Jennifer Vendrig's THE DARK LORD AND THE SEAMSTRESS?
Enter the Goodreads Giveaway!
(Or, alternatively, you can pick it up at Amazon, on Kindle, or at Smashwords)
And here it is!
The first look at the final cover of the book! It's just a screenshot, so it's not as clear as it will be in print, but it's still GORGEOUS.
Love it? Tell the illustrator how much!
As promised, there will be an announcement video for my next novel. The release date for the video and the free first chapter looks like it will fall mid-November. Trust me, it'll be cool.
And, lastly, some really great news for users of Goodreads: the book's listing has gone live! Click here and add THE DARK LORD AND THE SEAMSTRESS to your "Want To Read" shelf! Not on Goodreads? You can sign up here.
Much thanks, again, for your awesome support.
We Made It!
My friends! I hit my Kickstarter goal! YAY!
Thank you all so much for your support!
In the coming weeks I'll be posting information about the perks, estimated delivery dates, and the announcement video for my Epic Fantasy Feminist Novel.
Thanks!
Well, we're down to the wire. There's 30 hours left and just a little over $1,500 to go. That's just fifteen backers at $100, or thirty at $50, or sixty at $25.
Check out the project here.
Kickstarters are a numbers game. So if you were planning to share this project with your own friends and family, now's the time. And don't forget, if you're planning on buying the book anyway (I have heard lots of folks are thinking of buying it as a Christmas gift!), back the project at $35 and you'll get a personally signed book delivered straight to you door.
As we're so close, I have a few small favours to ask of you.
1) If you know anybody who runs a blog, writes articles, or is influential on social media, please ask them to consider posting about the project.
2) Please reminder your own social media followers of the project: post, tweet, comment, share, tumblr, and everything else.
3) Consider upping your backing. You can go back into your pledge and add a few more dollars, if you like. If everyone added just five or ten more bucks, then we would soar on past the deadline.
Again, the money for this project will go to pay:
a) My illustrator $1,000, which is comparable to market rate. This is Jennifer Vendrig’s first professional project, and she’s been working her butt off between raising her two adorable toddlers and holding a part time job. I absolutely want to be able to pay Jennifer what she – and her skills and talent – are worth.
b) My designer $500, which is comparable to market rate for the number of hours she’s putting in. This is also Brienne’s first professional gig as a book designer, and this money would help her pay off her publishing class fees.
c) Marketing, Postage, and Printing Costs – the remainder of the money that is going out will be used to help buy advertisements for the book, pay to mail the books out to backers, and allow me to start with a print run large enough that I can place the book in local book stores and hold a launch party at GenreCon in Guelph, Ontario.
Thank you, thank you everyone!!
