Random thoughts while rereading the season 2 finale of The Dark Lord's Confession under the cut:
Among Arverna's living descendants, Charlotte bears the strongest physical resemblance to Arverna. The art in the season finale really emphasizes this resemblance, with Charlotte's formerly sharply parted, pin-straight hair turning into softly disheveled waves akin to Averna's. It's no wonder that Arverna targeted Charlotte first among her descendants, much to Rosetta's envy.
In any case, it seems like the author is setting up a plot for Charlotte to become queen of Lampas, possibly with Karl as her consort (and Castella as her ally as the ruler of Hardekhal. there has to be another plot-relevant reason why Castella was brought back other than to alleviate all of the doom and gloom in the plot lol). I can't wait to see how Charlotte's character changed after the two-year timeskip.
