Let’s talk about Soren from The Dragon Prince
In the first two seasons he was just this jock, more-or-less a lovable idiot. Yes, he was a guard, but he was mindlessly following the orders and didn’t stop to think what was right. Xadians are bad and humans are good! Sounds great!
To become a good guy he had to turn away from his family, especially his own father, find the princes, convince them he’s a good guy now, accept and fight together with Xadians (who were his enemies like two weeks ago) and literally fight to death with his own dad and sister. His redemption arc is so good and deep.
Just looking at the parallels to earlier seasons - he came such a long way. Handling the dragons - season 1
Season 3
Relationship with Callum - season 1
Season 3
The way he sees his father - season 1
Season 3
And of course - the right thing to do - season 1
and season 3
I think he is a very well-written character and watching him grow from a lost daddy’s boy to a young strong man with a pure heart and ready to fight for those weeker than him is amazing and I can’t way to see him in the future seasons
