Beckett in the mirror dimension?
Today’s chapter gave, what I believe is, a bunch of clues that tie back to previous chapter. Some I have already seen pointed out, some I haven’t.
Exhibit A (lol):
Atlas tells us the wards/aka protective shields has been taken off of one mirror. Only someone inside the school could have done that. It is complex magick, and not just anyone could do it.
However, Beckett already told us previously that he finished a book on “the correlation between shield and ward magick and their manipulations”.
Plus we already know that Beckett can do advanced magick.
Exhibit B:
When MC and Atlas investigate the mirror room, MC sees silver and black smoke lines, what I’m guessing is imprints if magick. This part made me think of when MC and Beckett work together in Chapter 8 on the Resin spell. MC feel Beckett’s magick, which has a “distinct metallic edge” aka metal is silver colored.
Thank you to BizzysChoices on YouTube for the chapter 8 pictures! Who I am guessing is @bizzyschoices here on tumblr!
Exhibit C:
When the Pend Pals are looking for MC after MC disappeared into the mirror dimension, Griffin suggests going to professors. Beckett disagrees, thinking it’s a terrible idea and that the professors will blame them. Zeph even begins to say that he does not believe they would be blamed.
Exhibit D:
When MC is back and talking to Beckett, Beckett - guiltily? - says that he could have stopped it from happening but quickly counters this by saying that he meant because he knows advanced magick.
Exhibit E:
Beckett knows a spell to remove shards of glass and he’s done the spell “a million times”. Knowing the spell is one thing, but why would he have had use for it so many times?
Exhibit F:
Honestly this kinda speaks for itself. He seems guilt ridden, and basically says he doesn’t know how to get out of whatever situation he’s in.
Now, this is just the reasons why I believe Beckett is the one that’s been in the mirror dimension.
Personally I don’t believe it’s been with ill intentions, he seems too guilt ridden for that. Perhaps he became caught up in something unwittingly or his sister has been used against him? Who knows, I sure don’t lmao
I actually wouldn’t mind him being the traitor, even tho I’m romancing him. I live for the angst 🤷🏼♀️😂
And I’m guessing that even though we saw both Shreya and Beckett act suspicious in this chapter, we will probably see Griffin and Zeph act suspicious in the next 🤷🏼♀️
Anyone have any other theories? 😁
Sorry for the long post!!
