Starting off the year with a color test and some new creatures.

I’ve been wanting to figure out a simpler way to color.  For when I don’t want to do full painting but don’t want to l leave it in flats.

Mirror Trevini and a Tea creature got to be the first test.

Tea beast are like the mirror worlds horses/camels.  They are more camel based then horses but these are the guys you see in their place.  Tea beast come in all shades and finishes just like tea pots.  I like to think in the desert area is where cold tea beast are bred so riders are kept cool and in the snowy area hot ones are bred to keep riders warm.

Females are way easier to deal with then males but when you bond with one you got a friend for life.  Riders usually sit in front of or behind the tea beast top.  If you’re riding without a partner it sits between your legs.

Trevini gets her own Tea Beast when Labrum introduces her to them when they need to travel long distances.

Also Mirror Trevini walking around on all fours.  Because Trevini does that in any mode.

More Tea beast and sketches.  I have the one of Labrum and his Tea beast started in shading but I may just keep it in flats.  He likes to decorate her and make her pretty.

Also I realized when I gave her and the male Tea beast lantern decorations I needed to at least show one of the lantern creatures I haven’t shown a lot.  Labrum is scared to death of “spiders” or as the mirror world calls them Many Legged Lanterns.  They have that name to differentiate them from the walking (four legged) lantern and floating lanterns.  Many Legged ones creep him out.  The best part is Many Legged come in sizes from small to house sizes.

Labrum’s Tea Beast has a replica legless lantern as decoration while his dad’s tea beast has a replica floating lantern.

Many Legged, Walking, and Floating lanterns are typically fire elementals but can come in electric variety.  I like to think only walking lanterns have been “domesticated”.  Trevini loves Many Legged Lanterns because she likes bugs but that’s another story.

Both Labrum and Trevini’s Tea Beast are sweet.  Labrum’s dad Tea beast is a pain in the ass to all except his dad.  The Tea Beast with the handle over the back are usually seen as stubborn as all get out.  Labrum’s dad is a big guy so he needs a big Tea Beast.  Labrum was raised as a knight but he was also raised as a farm boy taking care of Tea Beat so he knows how to deal with his dads beast..sorta.  Trevini is scared of the size of him since he can just kick her across the world while Labrum yells at him.
