I'm making a new tag to put all my ramblings. So if you don't wanna see it go ahead and block teachatters ✨👌 - putting a "keep reading" thing here since this is the first time I'm posting one lkajf

ANYWAYS I've never been so goddamn nervous / anxious to visit family before. Basically, I'll be leaving the country to visit my long-distance partner of 8 years for the first time, which is super awesome and exciting!

The only drawback right now is that 90% of my family is NOT having it. Where I live it's not common for people to leave the country, even for vacations. So understandably they're worried - fine whatever, that's normal. Except they're taking it to the maximum extreme.

It's like every time I talk to them I have to bend over backwards to convince them that I'll be staying with a real-life human and that no - I'm not traveling to space or disappearing off the face of the earth. Might be wild for your southern brains to comprehend but cell service and the internet exist in other places outside the USA.

I'm a super anxious person to begin with so this is just extra stress. The reason I'm having to visit them, and not just outright ignore them instead, is that I need someone to watch my cat while I'm gone and they're my only option ;o;

TL;DR I can't wait to fist-fight everyone in my family at the back of a fast-food joint yakuza style
