Strange fruit & vegetable selling protest staged by teachers as coaching centres remain closed in Jharkhand Teachers and owners of private coaching centres in Jharkhand have staged a peculiar fruit and vegetable selling protest against the government’s order to keep private educational establishments closed. The video of this non-violent protest was recorded in Dhanbad. They protested by riding carts and vending fruits and vegetables across the city. It is the opinion of many out of them that this will become their future. Protesters carried placards like ‘BA, MA Pass Sabzi Wala’, ‘Sushant Singh Rajput Banne Ke Liye Majboor Mat Karo’ (Don’t force us to become Sushant Singh Rajput), ‘Daru Dukhaan Khul Sakta Hai to Coaching Kyu Nahi?’ (If wine shops can open, why can’t coaching centres?) etc. These cards combined with fruit and vegetable carts expressed their dismay over losing their livelihood and having to roam the streets to make ends meet. There are approximately 5000 coaching centres in Jharkhand, which is responsible for the employment of almost 1000 teachers. Read the full article
