all things considered, taking johnny into a sparring mach might had not been the best of his ideas. but daniel is not a quitter and he can put his mouth where his metaphorical money is. he had taken johnny once, he can do it again. his leg still aches a little under cold weather and he is sensitive but he has managed to hold his ground until the last minute, with a sweep of the other’s leg as they fall to the ground, daniel makes sure to mark the point with a gentle hit to the stomach and then he lingers there, on top of johnny, feeling the solidness of his chest ( this is just him proving he is stronger, nothing else ). “see? not all defense is stupid. i took you down. twice.” daniel grins, content with himself as he looks down. the garden is quiet through the open door, miyagi nowhere to be seen and johnny is there, the sun hitting his blue eyes, making them clearer. “almost feels you letting me win here, johnny.”
