I was tagged awhile ago
Something something about saying nice things about the people who run blogs I follow, tag them and they pay it forward? I am a finnicky tumblr'er. Sometimes I will check my dash everyday and sometimes I will not log in for months. I reblog what amuses me and whatever fandom thing I feel like spreading to others so my exposure to people on tumblr is varied and not that deep. So I am just picking those who I really like to read their tumblrs.
Saying nice things then:
JellybeanJean (AvannaK) - The BAMFiest BAMF to have ever BAMF'ed. Talented in writing, drawing, drinking, catting, and sassery. Not only did I base a sim family off hers, she's for real invited to my wedding even though I never met her in real life, that's how awesome she is. I sound like a creepy stalker but I am not.
Yamilink - A determined and insanely talented comic artist, she won the HTTYD March Madness 2014 because of her prestigious comic. Overall she is a cool person to chat with and super friendly too! I just realized I actually wasn't following her but just typed in her tumblr url to check her page out this whole time. Ugh I suck at technology sometimes.
teachthemhowtothink - I never have engaged with JJ but I immensely enjoy reading all her posts and she's a definite inspiration as a parent. When I have my own kids (if I can ever afford to) I will definitely look back to her blog for advice. She is intelligent, thoughtful, passionate, and has good humor too.
Thestarsandpolkadots - Talented artist and creative, her Original Characters are some of the most fleshed out I have ever seen and it's very very neat how she updates them in real time and I can see them evolve through posts and drawings. I spent 2 hours the other day just reading through her art tag.
dopeybeauty - again never engaged with this person but holy balls their blog is a constant laugh factory. They have found a perfect blend of Disney and Modernism and have created edited gifsets in a very fabulous manner of Princess Aurora being a mean girl to about just every other Disney Princess.
Fill in the blanks and tag 6 people!
I was tagged by majikthise.
Basics
Name: Owen
Birthday: October 6th
Favourite colour: It was yellow for most of my life, but I'm leaning toward purple these days.
Lucky number: Two, I guess.
Height: 6’0” (182.9 cm)
Talents: Writing poetry, cooking really delicious and really simple food items (pancakes, pizza, garlic bread), giving good hugs, not complaining about long walks, and I'm usually pretty good at making people laugh
Last dream you remember: I remember being back in high school and going to this queer retreat where there were hundreds of students, and being optimistic about hooking up with someone because several cute guys were clearly interested in me. I woke up before that could happen, though.
Can you juggle: Nope.
Art/sports/both: Art.
Do you like writing: Obviously.
Do you like dancing: I do, but I don't get the chance to do it as often as I'd like.
Do you like singing: Yep, and I've been told I'm pretty good at it, including by a vocal major and a sound recording technology major at my old college, so that's saying something.
Fantasies
Dream vacation: I'm going to borrow heavily from Evan's idea and say a road trip (maybe even world trip) where I get to finally meet all my online friends in person and hook up with the cute ones.
Dream guy/gal: They say opposites attract, but statistically relationships last longer the more the two people have in common. So someone who's a lot like me, and the ways he's different from me are thing I admire and would want to emulate. If we like the same music, good; if he can introduce me to a bunch of new music I love, even better. Also very chubby with most of his weight centered in his waist (or at least apple shaped), with a reasonably thick beard.
Dream wedding: Sign the paperwork by ourselves with our one witness each, then having a "wedding" that's 100% afterparty, with an Italian banquette complete with pizza and pasta and garlic bread, a make-your-own-Sundae bar, and instead of a DJ, we would have music playing that's comprised of some of his music and some of mine. Expect a lot of metal from my collection; I had to put up with listening to everyone's not-metal my whole life, they can put up with it for one night.
Dream pet: Samoyed
Dream job: You know, my current job is pretty fantastic as it is.
Favourite song: "Cold War" by Janelle Monáe.
Last song you heard on the radio: I'm not even sure when the last time I listened to the radio was. I did download "Bang Bang" by Jessie J, Ariana Grande, and Nicki Minaj recently after hearing it a few times on the radio and it growing on me, so let's go with that.
Least favourite song: The one I'm most actively hating right now is "Rude" by Magic. All-time least favorite is "Look at Me Now" by Chris Brown.
Least favourite album: If I dislike an album that much, I'm not going to sit through it to decide how much I dislike it compared to other albums I've disliked. Otep's Hydra was probably my biggest disappointment of an album, which is the best answer I can give.
Preferences
Guys/girls/both: Guys.
Hair colour: Blonde hair and especially red hair have their own unique charm due to being uncommon, but I'm not picky.
Eye colour: No preference, really. I've seen some striking blue eyes before, but this really won't sway me one way or the other.
Humorous/serious: Humorous generally, serious when it matters.
Taller/shorter: There aren't a lot of guys out there who are taller than me, but taller if I have to pick one.
Biggest turn-off: Not respecting consent (coming on too strong when we haven't established boundaries, saying things like "I'm going to molest/rape you" when talking about sex, etc.)
Biggest turn-on: The guy being chubby. I mean that's basically a requirement, so maybe it's not fair to pick that. Basically the opposite of my biggest turn-off: asking for consent. Paradoxically, him taking control and telling me to do things (things I would want to do anyway) is also a huge turn-on.
I don't want to pressure people, so if we're mutuals, or if we know each other away from Tumblr, or if we've had extended private conversations, and you want to do this, consider yourself tagged. (I would like to see the answers queendeedee, jsands84, atthebutterflyball, and teachthemhowtothink would give, but again, no pressure.)
2, 4, 9, 17!
2. a famous person i’ve been compared to.Oh man, that’s difficult. One of my friends once posted an article about Kanye West wearing a leather kilt during a live performance; does that count? If you count internet-famous people, I think I’m a lot like Kyle Kallgren of Brows Held High fame. Followers, tell me in the responses if I remind you of any famous people.
4. the best thing that has happened to me this week.Probably going to that concert Tuesday night. I was seeing my favorite band, Agalloch. Agalloch’s set ended up being a disappointment due to moshers taking me out of my zone and making me scared the whole time, and due to Agalloch watering down their songs by emphasizing heaviness over the intricacy and detail they were composed with. BUT, the two opening acts, Obsidian Tongue and Jex Thoth, put on great shows (with no fucking moshing!), and I got to spend a lot of time with a friend of mine who went with me. She’s someone who I feel could be my best friend if we only got to see each other more often, so spending time with her was honestly the highlight of the night.
Close second would be writing and finishing my first fanfic on Sunday and getting a pretty good response to it.
9. something that makes me sad when i think about it.Erasure of non-binary gender identities and the gaslighting that goes with it. It triggers a lot bad emotions in me, and is the reason I have unfollowed a few people on here.
17. something i regret.I don’t have many regrets, but the one that sticks out most prominently is never asking out this guy who was in two of my classes in college. He was hella cute and I think he might have been queer but I wasn’t sure. I remember I ran into him once after classes had ended during what I know was his last semester. We chatted for a bit and then parted ways, and you know, when I looked back at him, hating myself for never just asking, he looked back at me the same way. And I just kept walking. *long, self-hating sigh*

lilacs!!
<3 ikr, I love lilacs and they only bloom for a few short weeks in late spring/early summer.
I love the smell so much, many years ago I tried to make lilac infused oil. It didn't work, just turned rancid. :(
-I took the time to answer all your questions. There was no fluff, diversion, and I just stated simple facts. - You completely missed the meaning of "The afterlife we should be worried about is the future we leave our children." It has nothing to do with mass producing children or setting examples of what "I" think is a great life. - I don't teach my children what to think. I teach them how to think. (That was for you JJ) - I hope you don't make it habit of telling other people their life is sad. It's really not nice. “Life is an act of endless creativity. With all its simmering tragedy and occasional catastrophe, a human life is an amazing thing to contemplate and experience. None of us had any special plan laid out for us when we were born. By abandoning the idea that an intelligent designer created us, we can wake with each dawn and say, "What's done is done. Now how can I make the best of the here and now?” “If there is no destiny, there is no design. There's only life and death. My goal is to learn about life by living it, not by trying to figure out a cryptic plan that the Creator had in store for me.” "It's my firm conclusion that human meaning comes from humans, not from a supernatural source. After we die, our hopes for an afterlife reside in the social networks that we influenced while we were alive. If we influence people in a positive way -- even if our social web is only as big as our nuclear family -- others will want to emulate us and pass on our ideas, manners, and lifestyle to future generations. This is more than enough motivation for me to do good things in my life and teach my children to do the same.” "We should enjoy and make the most of life, not because we are in constant fear of what might happen to us in a mythical afterlife, but because we have only one opportunity to live.” - Greg Graffin

These are beautiful! What area of the world are you in?
Thanks! I live in southern Vermont, USA.
These photo sets are part of a personal project to get myself healthy and fit (mind and body). About 2 weeks ago I started taking a walk everyday and a few days in I started bringing the camera with me.
Thanks again for the feedback. The notes and comments I get on these photo sets are really helpful in motivating me to continue this project. :)
