Rain.
I love the sound of the rain when alone. The quiet orchestra of droplets and mini rivers that flow in the road and trickle away down a drain... They remind me of the tears of my own that have flowed. A hushed comfort that the world is reflecting my sorrows, that nature knows somehow, she understands, she's felt the pain too. Hearing the traffic splash and race through the rain, cursing it and calling it names. But It's just the rain, it never meant to happen upon your parade. The earth just felt dry and pleaded out for some relief. I love the rain, even when it's cold. It reminds me of the comfort of home, being warm and safe. Being snug with a book and a purring cat in my lap. The sound of the rain helps me sleep, as I hear the trickles and splashes against soil, plants and houses. It's hypnotic and peaceful, like natures very own metronome. In summer I look crazy dancing and laughing in the shower whilst everyone else takes cover. I love the rain, it feels like home.
