Are you going to tell them?
I should probably tell them at some point in time. Maybe come the summer when I visit their cottage or this weekend if they ask/say something about seeing the date on my calendar back at Christmas.

You’re not the only one! My parents know I had surgery but I never filled them in on the specifics. Didn’t really see any need. No biggie whether or not you decide to disclose. Have had no issue with my folks… and I see them every few months or so. Sometimes I think they know I had a mastectomy…other times, it’s hard to say. Either way, it’s all good in the hood.
I didn’t even tell them I was having surgery. But they might have seen it written on my calendar when they were at my place for Christmas. Who knows, could have an interesting weekend coming up if they notice or decide to say something.
