response to raiden team person!! I'd recommend using xiangling instead of bennett if you were to play raiden-sara-chevvy just bc three buffers on an overload team is quite unnecessary + you wont be triggering overloaded often as chevvy and bennett's pyro application is quite weak.

Hello!! I wanted your opinion for my team if that's alright?

I stuck between having Sara, Raiden, Kazuha and Bennett as my main overload team or to replace Kazuha with Chevreuse! My Kazuha is fully ascended but not fully leveled up while my Chevreuse is only at level 20 (both are at c0) (⁠^⁠～⁠^⁠;⁠)⁠ゞ

I also wanted to know if you perhaps knew of any good teams with c3 yanfei? I got her to this high of a constellation sogod damn it I want to use her lol (even though I've had people say she is only usable to f2p players if she's at c4 :/ )

unfortunately, i'm not familiar with chevreuse, but i know she's specifically an overload support! i do think that you're right and you should have a second pyro in this team, and there are two ways i can see this going:

raiden dps; in this case, your second pyro should be a consistent pyro applier (like thoma)

raiden support; in this case, your second pyro should be the on-field dps

i think option 2 also solves your problem of c3 yanfei, since although she's squishy, benny is a pretty consistent healer as long as you keep his burst up!!

that said, because you don't have c4 yanfei, i would err on the side of caution and pair her with a shielder. any shielder works, but if you use thoma, you get double pyro, and if you use layla, you get a nice melt reaction. you can also use diona on a hybrid shield/healer build, but don't expect much melt out of diona HAHA.

if you don't have a shielder, any healer also works. like i said above, benny's a good choice because of his buff, barbara and diona and kuki are good for elemental reactions, and if you have him, baizhu would be great for a burning team.

as for weapons, i personally have her on lost prayers (my girl deserves the best) but if you have dodoco tales, that one's awesome on her too. widsith might work better if you're playing elemental reactions, and i think sacfrag is fine too, but her E cooldown is generally pretty fast anyway so i think you might not get the most out of its passive.

yanfei is a very strong pyro dps alone, but of course elemental reactions make things a lot more fun ;)) so it depends on which characters you have and how you like to play!

(btw, re:overload team: i don't have kazuha and don't really know how to play him other than swirl, so he could be a great support in this team and i just might not know! as with everything, play the way that makes the most sense to you!)

The Zerg

So I have seen, in some places, a concern about zerg tactics in sPvP used by necromancers. Now first and foremost I need to make it clear I have never come up against a necromancer zerg, nor have I actually seen one!

This is mostly speculation on my part, and if anybody knows more about specifically sPvP pet zergs and how effective they are, please reblog with additional comments or send me a mail. I'd love to hear more about it from somebody with experience.

Onto the subject at hand, there has been some brief discussion in some places about the necromancers proving to be rather overpowered in an sPvP tournament when they come together as three or four of them all with the same pet zerg build. Now I did not get my necromancer high enough in PvE to even be able to use more than three pet skills at the same time, and I didn't sPvP with her either, so sadly much of what I am about to say is speculation and not fact!

Take what I say with a grain of salt for this reason.

But, in terms of functionality, I would imagine that a pet zerg by necromancers would function in a similar manner to the spirit build of ranger or spirit weapon guardian.

Now yes, fundamentally there's a difference because spirits give boons while active and can only really be used for AoE control purposes if you utilise their skills. However, the fact is that if a ranger lays down all three spirit AoEs at roughly the same time (particularly if they have traited up so the spirits can move freely and follow them) then there's suddenly at least three AoE traps on the field. This isn't including other traps that any other class could lay down at any given time.

Does this mean that the spirit ranger is overpowered? Well no. You can see those traps and you can avoid them provided you're paying some manner of attention to where the ranger's spirits are and what the ranger seems to be doing.

Guardian spirit weapons probably act in a more similar manner and there was a lot of complaints that a guardian's spirit weapons had a crazy amount of knockbacks that allowed guardians to be close to untouchable in combat. Now, if this was true, I'm pretty sure we'd be seeing more guardians than we have been seeing and certainly more spirit weapon. There are ways to combat the spirit weapons too - though their duration can be doubled by 100% if the guardian traits themselves well, the fact is that most spirit weapons are slow and easy to move around and avoid. If you're at range, you still have a significant advantage over the guardian because spirit weapons just aren't that fast.

They are strong, but frankly there's enough ways to avoid spirit weapons until they dissipate that I don't think they deserve the cry of "OP" that everybody is giving them. Now yes, maybe if there was a team of four guardians, all traited to be spirit weapon specialists, and they all picked on just you, it would probably be pretty crazy.

But let's be realistic, you aren't going to see a team of four spirit weapon specialist guardians. If you do, well, find out where such a team is weak! All team builds have weak spots, and to be fair, I don't think that a team of four or five spirit weapon specialist guardians would pick on just you during a battle.

So to the necromancers. I know of only three pets currently that I've been able to use (though I am aware that at least four exist, and five if we count the fact that one skill summons two minions instead of one.)

The blood fiend, from what I've seen so far, does only moderate sort of damage and is horrendously easy to kill. Horrendously easy to kill. The two small rat-like minions really don't offer much DPS whatsoever and if you happen to utilise their "special" skill, then you're blowing them up.

(Can we take a quick moment to appreciate suicide bomber undead rats, please? Genius.)

The lashtail is a ranged pet and again, from what I experience, damage seemed mediocre at best and the pet was easy to kill.

I believe there's also a wyrm of sorts, but I haven't been able to use it so I won't make a comment on it.

To be honest with you guys?

I'd be far more scared of a trap specialist necromancer and their staff traps than I would be a zerg necromancer.

And again the chances of you ever being against a team of four or five zerg specialists is slim to none, and then the chances that every single one of them picks on you? Well...

Well let's just be brutally honest, in an sPvP match, you just aren't special enough to warrant four players zerging on you unless you are all on your own and attacking their keep lord and they happen to all spawn on you. Even then, it's more because you're an easy kill than because they have to pet zerg you into oblivion.
