thinking about cinder & adam partnership and honestly. . . adam would only need to see cinder's semblance in action once and that'd be enough for him to go absolutely not, and probably also been the end of that partnership.
shout out to younger me who during v2 wondered who the fourth member of cinder's team would be, to then thinking it would be adam because of how the finale worked out, with team rwby hanging out after the breach, to after another scene jumping into cinder, emerald, mercury, and adam hanging out (aka scheming) on a rooftop in vale.
you know. like team rwby and... anti-team rwby. alas, it was not to be, but today's me has turned it into an au, so it all worked out.

About your Team CMET post, that explains also why Adam was in the opening in V3 taking Roman's place but also now I'm just imagining like, how would Adam be disguised in the Vytal Tournament since he's the leader of the splinter WF faction as well as the scar on his eye :0
wasn't there a news report like, very early on about a peaceful protest that turned violent when the white fang arrived on the scene? since it didn't mention any names—compared to the post-fall of beacon news report talking about the white fang that did name adam—i'd imagine that maybe adam wasn't that well known at the time, so he could have coasted his way through without a need for a disguise. an eye-patch or a blindfold (if that is his go-to) for the scar and voilà! no one would know or ask any questions!
...except blake, but he could bullshit his way through that. y'know, how he has totally changed, left the white fang, etc. the usual.
