Our fifty fourth team in the Reverse Big Bang was @glass-noodle working with @nothinggathers

@glass-noodle's idea was for a story in which Connor, firmly on his machine path, traveled through different realities and saw different outcomes for his own story. In some realities he and Hank were friends, and in others they hated each other. They have created 13 artworks for this idea so far, including the cover art and some spicy pieces you'll find on twitter

@nothinggathers took this idea and wrote In Another Life, an explicit Hankcon story in which Connor goes to Hank after the destruction of Jericho to find him on the brink of suicide, and tries to use everything he can think of to find a way to save him. As Connor delves into his software, reconstructing events and replaying them with different choices, he learns how badly his choices have affected others, and how different things could have been, irrevocably changing himself.

Submissions for the 2025 Big Bang are now open, and will close on May 15th, with Claims opening for artists on May 19th. You can find out more by joining us on discord!

2024 Team Highlight 41

Our forty first team in the 2024 Reverse Big Bang was @connor-sent-by-cyberlife working with @rking200

@connor-sent-by-cyberlife had an idea for a story in which Connor is a music student who studies singing by day, and sings in an elite nightclub called The Red Room at night. This is where Hank finds him, and proceeds to fall in love, with his voice, and then with the man behind it.

They did an incredible seventeen artworks for this story, but tumblr won't allow us to show them all, so we have a selection for your perusal here

@rking200 took this story idea and turned into the mammoth and incredibly ambitious The Red Room, an explicit rated Hankcon fic which sets out with the premise that Connor is a music student, studying under his vocal coach Elijah Kamski, and Hank is a depressed and lonely man who finds his way into the titular club one night, only to fall for the singer. But then the story takes dramatic turns, including a stalking subplot, and an exploration of Hank's depression and addiction.

It's a long read, and not for the faint of heart, but well worth the time and effort to go and give the writer and artist some love for their work. All the artwork we couldn't fit into this post is also contained in the story on AO3.

2024 Team Highlight 32

Our thirty second team in the Reverse Big Bang was @mitsu-14136 working alongside @s-hylor

@mitsu-14136 had an idea for a fantasy Medieval AU story where Hank and Connor's relationship parallels canon, with them originally starting off as reluctant companions, with them growing closer as the story, and their journey, progresses. They created one artwork for this, showing Hank as an Orc, and Connor as an elf.

@s-hylor turned this into The Fire In The Sunrise, an Explicit rated Hankcon story in which Connor is summoned to attend his brother's wedding, and Hank is pressed into service to ensure he gets there on time. After a rocky, tense start, they slowly start to soften towards one another.

2023 Highlight Team 27

Team number 27 in 2023 was a big one! @connorsjorts worked with @samishin, @connor-sent-by-cyberlife, @pichuxcreatesthings, and Elijah.

@connorsjorts brought us Stupid Sexy Priest, in which Connor, a Catholic Priest, fails miserably at resisting temptation when it comes in the form of the Demon Hank. Of course Hank does a likewise terrible job at resisting the charms of the target he's supposed to corrupt.

@samishin created three artworks showing Hank and Connor embracing, the two of them at the Eden Club where Hank is getting Connor all worked up, the two of them finally getting it on, and the cover, which is inset into the fic and available on twitter.

@l1av took this idea and turned it into a Mature rated RK1K hurt/comfort fic, I Can't See Me Cry. Opening with Connor realising that his body is breaking down, it delves into Markus and Connor's relationship, and Markus' determination to save Connor, and how this brings them together.
