Mahiru and Kuro are getting absorbed into the team M polycule

I think that they all would get along really well. Like genuinely once they sort through the things they've done to each other during the war, probably starting with Kuro apologizing for nearly biting Belkia.

And poking a hole in his hat, which may be more unforgivable.

Team M by themselves have a variety of different personalities and different interests so it's not so out of the blue to have Mahiru and Kuro's personalities and quirks to the mix. And even then, the usual trauma that surrounds any of the Melanchonies actually still somewhat applies to the both of them; Mahiru who has suicidal ideation and would rather die than be alone again and Kuro who, pre-realizing he needs to help Mahiru like he helped him, would have taken any chance to die and stay dead.

Also all having beef with C3 in some form or another is something that can tie them together rather nicely.

Kuro would be far more awkward with the Elites than Mahiru would simply because he's just like that but he's gonna try.

Kuro recommending good games to Sakuya, Belkia and Otogiri. He learns and factors in their taste. He keeps beating Belkia in Mario Kart and he gets all pissy about it.

I hc that Kuro is more creatively inclined and writes/has written so once that fact slips out he and Higan have at least a little something to talk about (Art, meaning. The artist and writer friendships are real and Strong.)

Mahiru and Shamrock joining together in their housekeeping skills. Mahiru's apartment and Tsubaki's penthouse have never sparkled more. Going grocery shopping together and teaching/learning tips and tricks. They get along swimmingly.

Kuro @ Shamrock: Damn theres two of them now

Belkia and Mahiru is something im not yet sure what to do with but we'll get there.

Otogiri and Mahiru would work and it'd start when Mahiru asks about her thread/string and Otogiri answering questions which leads to the both of them sharing pictures of their latest sewing projects.

Kuro and Otogiri would chill but also she thinks his kitty form is really cute and wants to pet him. It takes a bit but Kuro eventually allows it willingly.

Mahiru and Higan just Works. Somehow. They def get along better than Higan and Sham so theres that at least.

Sakuya's getting smooched either way by everybody so its all good ww

Mahiru and Kuro had a little problem getting close to Team M, and then all of a sudden, and out of nowhere, boom! They're in a poly relationship. And then they'd just accept it

One day mahiru just asks them what they want for dinner and then as he's cooking he's asking himself "Wait, why am I cooking for them?" But then continues and then shrugs it off, and the same night he realizes everything

What's Tsubaki and the other members of team M roles?

Tsubaki – a newcomer among the members of the executive board, hired from externally a few months ago. The medical staff is often left in the dark about what’s happening in the administrative department, but rumours have it he has been ruffling feathers among the higher-ups, looking to make some big changes – some of the employees welcome this, but most are wary or consider him outright dangerous. Tsubaki brought along some staff of his own, who mostly keep to themselves and are thus regarded with suspicion. 

Belkia – orthopaedic surgeon whose overt enthusiasm for doing surgery is often regarded as strange by the staff assisting him. He and cardiothoracic surgeon Hugh clash almost daily, and will frequently proclaim they think of each other’s field as child’s play. His biggest gripe about his job is having to ruin his hairstyle by stashing it underneath a surgical cap. 

Sakuya – member of the IT team. As the newcomer, he’s been delegated to IT support, and most of his time is spent fixing jammed printers and explaining how the hospital wifi works. This has left him with a lingering sense of bitterness. He has been friends with Mahiru since he got lost in his ward on his first day, and sometimes causes IT problems in his department on purpose to come talk to him. 

Higan – pathologist with great passion for his job. He has a habit of loudly marvelling at the beauty of the human body when looking at a sample under the microscope, which is exacerbated when he figures out whatever it is that is wrong with it. To avoid friction he has been made to share his corner of the laboratory with Shamrock, which neither of them are incredibly happy about. 

Shamrock – microbiologist. His fellow laboratory workers mostly know him for yelling at Higan whenever he finds his samples messed with, but there are rumours he has worked at this hospital before. He’s stiff and awkward, but gets along well with equally stiff and awkward Shuuhei, whom he supports in hygiene management by analysing the strains of bacteria found among the patients.

Otogiri – anaesthesiologist. She’s quiet and reserved and no one really knows what to make of her, but known to be calm and collected especially during intraoperative emergencies. Belkia insists on working with her, though it’s suspected he mostly does it to throw quips at her to pass the time. Sometimes he’ll challenge her to some verbal game. She wins every time.

Day 7 - Band

Any team M headcanons?

my favorite one would be that they visit board game conventions and brag about knowing the board game of the year! They act like it genuinely makes them better than everyone else.

They can sense when Tsubaki is getting worse again mentally, so they try to make it easier for him. It's not like they'd try and excuse the shit he does when he has his five minutes (of trying to kill his siblings etc etc) but they also know that it's not him (or not his WHOLE self, anyway).

Tsubaki frequently has episodes of wanting nothing more than to hide in his room and rot away. His subclasses respect that but also try and persuade him to play with them or listen to a podcast. It sucks, really, but it's a little easier to handle than his five minutes of murder.

Team M went to several plays based on Kafka's works. This is not based on the drag version of Die Verwandlung that I saw on tiktok today. But they've seen that too.

Tsubaki read Kafka's diaries too and had a "he's so me fr" moment.

Go Otogiri

When otogiri broke lust contract bond and returned home the others had a party to celebrate. She was given lots of gift and tsubaki let her chose food for a week. Otogiri wouldn't say anything or show emotion but she enjoyed the praise
