Another day is in the books... seldom do I ever end a day without being thankful for the opportunities I have and have had. I never forget that today could be my last so I have made this day a valued one, and appreciate that I can train, that I can still change, still learn, still be humbled, still be surprised... each one of these selfies is another record to my self that I was here, doing what I love, hopefully even inspiring those who like myself are over 50 and might need a reminder that all things are possible and probable if you only be grateful for what you have and work for what you want with passion and appreciation! I was reminding myself the extremes of dieting and how when going through it I at times just felt I was going to lose it, but now removed I want to get back at it again. Like getting a tattoo. 1985 #surrey #rams #football. This was the year that changed my life. As a child I had two ambitions. To be an athlete and to be successful. I had 2 loves for sports. Football and Bodybuilding. Both equally important, however football took priority #1 1985, after 12 years playing football was the year I found myself invited to my hometown #bclions training camp and my dreams were on the doorstop be actualized! Sadly it was not meant to be. Later that year, the championship game, I suffered a career ending knee injury rupturing my ACL. At the time, the dream just being shattered, I was truly beside myself with grief, but I was not to lay low too long. As soon as I was able I found myself back in the gym but this time understanding football was done I now focused on my next love - #bodybuilding. I hooked up with my friend @walcott_tony who pointed me and directed me down the road which in the end would be the source of most of my accomplishments; personal and business! Sometimes we think we know what the future has in store and in a blink of an eye everything changes! Looking back I wouldn’t change one thing for all of those experiences has me here and I’m thankful for all those who have been apart of this journey. Once in awhile I do like to look at my past, though I never stare to long.. for my future is still in the making and today needs my attention. “Let it be” is my life’s lesson and living it has me living with no regrets! 2 days out of #cbbf nationals and still need to fill up. I remember feeling very small and underweight, but then I also remember feeling lost in my mind with so many things going on in Life aside from the show. But looking at this reminds me to not give up... work harder and bring a better package. My coach for the show brought me to a good place considering all the shit I was going through for the previous 6 weeks! This has been a good last few years off seasons and I am starting this new competitive training off season ahead of last year! I did not gain the weight back after the show so 3 1/2 months post show and I’ve gained only 5kg. It’s a good place to be ... now with only one show to focus on this coming year I believe I’ll be in a better position to be my all time best! A lot is going to happen this year...
