PSA - It is NOT #TeamMal to hate on other characters
I’ve seen this a couple of times from a couple of highly TOXIC people and it really makes me angry to have someone actively hating on a character while calling themselves ‘#TeamMal’ so lets get a few things straight here...
It is not #TeamMal to hate on Audrey
Audrey and Mal have been taught since birth to hate the other and everything they stand for. On top of that Mal stole Audrey’s boyfriend so of course Audrey’s going to lash out and strike back. It’s not the nice thing to do but it is HUMAN. Both girls are victims or circumstance and their upbringing and that is all.
It is not #TeamMal to hate on Uma
Ben notes the similarities between Mal and Uma, and then Mal hits the nail on the head: Uma is too prideful to back down and that’s her downfall. Uma has moments that show she’s not beyond redemption but her pride refuses to let her accept someone else’s help, especailly someone she thinks has wronged her.
Yes we all have our favourites but that doesn’t mean that you have to take on those character’s prejudices. None of the characters are truly good or evil, they’re all flawed in some way that makes them more relatable. Except Maleficent, she’s actually evil but she’s too fabulous to hate.
So once again, it is NOT #TeamMal to hate on other characters. You don’t get to spread your bile and then make out it’s for a cause by claiming you’re ‘#TeamMal’. You’re not ‘#TeamMal’ you’re just ‘#TeamAsshole’.
Note: This is based on opinions I’ve seen on Personal Blogs not RP Blogs. This is addressing the OOC hatred surrounding certain characters.
