What separates us as humans from animals? I've been told that it's our ability to recount the past, tell stories & our level of conscious self-awareness. Sometimes, I think that last one can be a gift AND a curse, if we aren't careful. How many times have we "heard" to 'take this street instead of that one' or, 'call this person at 10am tomorrow', or even 'wear this shirt to that event' and we DON'T listen??!! It's like we totally HEAR instructions, loud & clear, in that still small voice, that we ALL recognize, yet we CHOOSE to ignore it!! Why?? Because WE think about all the OTHER options or ways we can do something that WE think will be better! We question over & over again if we're making the "right" decisions or moves, but if we just LISTEN to the instructions & exercise our obedience, we could probably alleviate a lot of unnecessary stress!! It's funny, dogs have absolutely no problem following directions! And they have NO idea why! They just DO IT!! You tell a dog to 'Sit &Stay' at the curb, they don't question the number of cars approaching!! They just recognize that you are in control & have their best interests at heart! No need for second-guessing....just following their masters CLEAR instructions!! I'm telling you...everyday I learn more about life, just by watching dogs! I made these 2 wait for a FULL 3mins, before allowing them on the elevator! And they sat there JUST like this, until I said "Come!" They had no idea I was just helping them exercise their patience, but they rocked with it and were just as quick about their business when it was time to MOVE!! Obedience, Stillness & Patience, then ACTION! OUR master always has a plan too!! If only we could Sit...Stay & Come w/o that whole pesky human brain thing getting in the way!! Lol!
