Requested By Anon: Welcome back!! Its good to see yall posting again! May i request birthday party with platonic!Teamiplier? Maybe with depressed reader if possible ;’) Can be headcanons!
Summary: This time of year can be hard on (Y/N) and what could make a depressed birthday better than an incredible group of friends?
A/N: Well, I’m back and, as usual, a little late so my apologies! But the reason is actually part of what inspired this one shot. All mentions of depression are based entirely off of my own experiences so I apologize in advance if they don’t apply to you. -CJ
For most people, birthdays were a big deal. And it wasn't exactly that you weren't excited for your birthday. But depression was never exactly fun, and with the celebrations and everyone wanting to chat, it felt like you were drowning. It was exhausting and you were thankful that your team really understood that and respected your boundaries. Nevertheless, your friends just wanted to cheer you up as much as they could. They kept their distance, bringing you food and gifts and inviting you to spend time with them when you felt up to it. But when you woke up in the late morning on your birthday, it was needless to sat you were shocked to have been left alone by them.
You got up, trudging reluctantly to the bathroom and cleaning yourself up. You had slept plenty, but you were still tired, like your brain was in a bit of a fog. When your phone gave a soft ding, you picked it up to see a happy birthday message from Mark along with a few dozen heart emojis. You smiled to yourself, texting a quick thanks in reply and carrying on with your routine. You'd hardly finished getting ready when you heard a knock on your door.
With a sigh, you walked to he door and peeked through the peephole to see Amy waiting patiently. You cracked the door open before stepping aside to let her in. She thrust a cup into your hand with a smile.
"Your favorite. I wanted to surprise you for your birthday." She explained with her sweet smile and you couldn't help the way the corners of your lips quirked up in reply. You took a sip of the drink and looked at her. She always did her best to make sure you were alright. Even if that just meant sitting with you while you stared into space under a pile of blankets. "Come on, hurry up. You need to get out of the house. Don't worry, we won't do anything crazy." She said with a knowing smirk. And because this was Amy and you had a near impossible time telling her no, you nodded and finished preparing for your day as best as you could while she sat patiently by on her phone.
Some time had passed, and you were finally in Amy's car. She talked and you gave soft answers every now and again. She kept looking at her phone at stoplights, and part of you was growing suspicious, but you didn't entirely care. So you sat and felt your mentality improve just a little. Soon enough Amy made a stop and you smiled at the familiar sight of Ethan's place. The two of you got out of the car and headed to the door. You hardly had time to knock before it was pulled open and you were engulfed in a tight hug by Ethan.
"Happy birthday!" He cheered in a goofy voice, the type that always earned a giggle, and this time was no exception. You were ushered inside and the sight caught you by surprise. They had put up streamers and even a somewhat sloppy banner for you. Mark, Kat, and Tyler were eagerly awaiting. There was a small cake made just for you with a candle stuck in it, flickering as it awaited your wish.
You smiled, tucking your hands into your pockets a bit bashfully.
"Guys, you shouldn't have. I mean, you didn't have to." You said with a smile, but Mark shook his head. He ushered you closer with a firm hand against your shoulder.
"We know. But it's your birthday, that deserves a little surprise." He told you, settling you in front of the cake. "Make a wish." He urged. You looked around and smiled before leaning forward with your eyes squeezed shut and puffed your cheeks, making a scene of blowing out the barely lit candle. The others clapped and cheered happy birthdays that brightened your day tenfold.
"What did you wish for?" Kat asked with a smile as Tyler set to work serving cake for everyone despite the fact that it was way too early in the day for cake. You sat down, nibbling at your cake while everyone talked. It was half an hour before Mark got up and disappeared for a moment. When he came back, he was loaded down with bags.
"Okay, okay! Present time." He stated firmly and you stared up at him with a look of pure shock. You hadn't expected cake on your birthday, let alone several birthday presents. But you took one of the bags, reaching in and shuffling the tissue paper and pulling out the gift. This went on for a while until you were nearly in tears from just how appreciated your friends had made you feel.
"Seriously, thank you all so much. You didn't have to get all the gifts and the cake and everything." You sniffled and wiped away the tears threatening to fall from your eyes. "I love you all so much. I know I've pretty much been a hermit lately." You laughed a tiny bit, glancing over the faces of your dearest friends.
"We're happy to do this. It's nice seeing you smile more." Kathryn promised, taking a bite of the cake she'd been working on finishing.
You'd had plenty of birthdays, and most of them were overtaken by the chemicals you dealt with all the time. But this one you wouldn't give up for the world and you couldn't be more grateful for your incredible group of friends.

Prompt: There’s a hostage situation at VidCon and a superhero jumps in and saves the YouTubers lives including Ethan who gets caught up in the madness
A/N: this was actually super fun to write! it took all day but i’m honestly proud of it hahah
It’s a normal day for you at Vidcon. You’re living a normal day, a normal life, and seeing your average, but favorite, YouTuber Ethan (aka the CrankGamePlays).
Let’s just say though... you aren’t exactly normal or average. You try to be, but it’s difficult to do so when you have superpowers. Especially when you possess the power of wielding any weapon you want. Now, that would seem really cool and subtle, but every weapon you conjure is of magic substance. And every weapon is oddly mystical and purple.
A lot less subtle but still super badass. It isn’t easy to deal with either. But those are other stories for a different day.
Back to the story of your supernormal, average day! Everything is going great, you find yourself sitting down for a panel that Mark, Ethan, and Tyler are running. You sit a few rows back from the front, enjoying every moment.
Within moments though, you gain an unsettling feeling in your gut. You peer over the crowd to see what you think is a minor commotion occurring in the front row until you hear a scream. Suddenly Ethan and Mark stand, terrified but stoic.
Sneaking to the front row, you continue to watch what’s going down, your heart jolts due to the horror of what you’re witnessing.
An older man, who seems to be in his late forties, is holding a gun against a younger girl’s head. She’s trembling and crying to be freed. You can’t hear their voices but you can see Ethan and Mark attempting to negotiate with the man. But much to their avail, it’s no use.
Rolling your eyes, you sneak behind the panel stage and rush to change into your costume.
Meanwhile, Ethan, Mark, and Tyler are conjuring up a plan.
“What the fuck do we do? We can’t just stand here and wait for more people to get hurt!” Ethan exclaims. Mark furrows his eyebrows and glances at the man, then back to his friends.
“The police will be here soon, and the guards for the building are already here...” Mark crosses his arms and sighs.
“Yeah but they’re not doing shit! One wrong move and the girl could die...” Tyler spoke up, obviously on the fence about what to do.
Ethan isn’t having it though. Without saying anything else, he marches off the stage and proceeds to make his way to the man and girl.
They’re only a few steps away, Ethan thinks.
The man, who’s filled with rage, tightens his grip on the girl and clutches the gun closer to her head.
“Stay the fuck away! I’ll... I’ll blow her fucking brains out!” The man yells at Ethan, and to prove he isn’t bluffing, he clicks off the safety. This scares the girl, causing her to whimper and cry out for help once more.
Ethan holds up his arms and takes a step forward, “Listen, man... we’re not here to hurt you.”
Another step is taken.
Slipping on your shoes, you peer around the corner and see Ethan making his way to the man.
“Fuck, fuck, fuck...” You mutter. You fumble with your mask, attempting to put it on. Then, you come up with a plan.
Ethan is terrified. There’s a chance someone could die and he can’t believe he’s risking it. Still, he walks forward, “No one needs to get hurt... just put the gun down...”
You rush around the panel, near Ethan and the man. You just have to wait for the right moment to pounce.
“TAKE ONE MORE FUCKING STEP AND YOU’RE BOTH DEAD,” The old man screams, raising the gun towards Ethan now. To Ethan’s left, he hears his friends begging him to come back.
“Ethan please don’t do this!”
“Come on man... just come back!”
To his right, he notices everyone in the crowd tensing up. Still, his gut is saying go, and he does.
BANG
Ethan flinches, expecting pain. To his surprise though, there isn’t any. He looks up to see you, holding a purple, almost transparent, shield. You’re staring hard at the man, but then you turn towards Ethan.
“You okay?” You raise an eyebrow. Ethan simply nods, his eyes are big. You give Ethan a sincere smile and walk over to the man and the girl. The bullet had ricocheted off the shield and hit the man in the shoulder, taking him down.
The police take the man away and you tend to the girl, making sure she’s with her parents. Afterward, you feel a tap on your shoulder. You turn to see Ethan, he still has big eyes and his mouth slightly agape. You smile and wave at him.
“Hi, there!”
“I... um... hi,” He awkwardly waves back, then proceeds to scratch his neck while looking down. “I just wanted to thank you for uh... saving my life.”
You chuckle, “It’s no problem! Really... I’m a huge fan actually, so it was the least I could do.”
Ethan laughs, holding his head. “The least? Hell... haha I’m sorry but the least my fans do is send fan mail or some shit. So you saving my life is HUGE!”
You feel your cheeks heat up, giving out a small laugh you agree, “Yeah... I guess you could call me a superfan?”
Ethan cackles at that. “Hey, you’re cute and funny! I bet your superhero boyfriend hella digs you!” You give him a weird look. “What? Just a regular boyfriend?”
“No boyfriend actually...” Ethan raises an eyebrow but gets an idea. He pulls out a sharpie and grabs your hand, you watch as he writes his number on the back of your hand. He sticks his hands in his pockets and smiles.
“Cool! Maybe if you’re interested in boring guys then text me! We can get some average, not-so-super coffee?” You think for a moment but he continues to talk. “I know we just met but it’s the only way I can pay you back for saving my life...”
“By... going on a date with me?” He laughs again and looks to the side.
“...alright I’m in. Friday at Dunkin Donuts, I’ll text you what time!” Ethan perks up, happy that you accepted.
“Sounds great!”
After conversing and flirting with Ethan for a little bit, you tell him you have to head home. Driving back, you could only anticipate how your future date could go. Guess you could say you had a super night.

You slammed the door to you and your best friends apartment shut in a rage of hurt and frustration
“This is so fucking stupid. I’m so stupid!” You shouted as you threw your shoes across the room, knocking over the clutter on the table.
You and your boyfriend of 2 1/2 years just broke up, and though you kept calm during the initial break up. You couldn’t help but feel so angry and frustrated at yourself for making him feel the way he does. It was mutual, but hearing how unhappy he was made you question your ability to have a relationship.
“Woah woah woah. Calm down Nick Fury, what’s going on?” Your brunette best friend, Ethan, piped in to attempt to at comic relief. You picked up another shoe and threw it across the room towards Ethan.
“Hey! Stop that Y/n! What’s wrong?” He ran over and caught your wrists before you could throw more shit. You fought against him for a moment before giving in, and let the tears fall.
“It’s over. We broke up.” Your voice cracked as you silently sobbed. Ethan’s face dropped and his eye brows furrowed slightly.
“What do you mean you broke up?” Ethan
wrapped his arms around your broken frame.
“I mean that we’re done. 2 1/2 years gone. It’s all my fault Ethan!” You ripped away from his group and stormed to your room and in your bed. You threw the covers over your head and went through everything you did wrong in the relationship in your head. You felt the bed dip beside you, and a soft hand make contact with your shoulder.
“Talk to me, come on y/n.” You heard Ethan speak softly from behind. Slowly sitting up you sighed, tugging at your hair.
“I just feel awful. He told me that it seemed like I was pushing him away, but I don’t know what I did. I loved him with all of my heart, and he gave me his everything. How could I have done that to him?” You buried your head in your hands as you confessed to Ethan. He sat quietly and listened while rubbing your back.
“Listen, we all make mistakes and have our downfalls but they are learning opportunities. If it was meant to be, you’ll reconnect in the future, but for right now you can’t dwell on the negative.” Ethan spoke gently as he soothed your frazzled state. You nodded your head gently.
“Thank you Ethan. You’re honestly the best thing a girl could ask for right now.” You chuckled dryly as you wiped your face clean. Ethan leaned forward and pulled you in for a tight embrace.
Naps were an essential part of being a YouTuber, a fact you had welcomed gratefully when the livestream grew to a close. Even while Mark finished his outro, you were the first one to lean into the couch cushions and rest your elbow on the arm. Your eyes shut as soon as Kathryn and Ethan shut the cameras off. Originally you had promised Amy a girl’s night out as soon as the livestream ended, but you were exhausted from having to travel between houses to pick up equipment, chase Chica around, and deal with Mark’s shenanigans. You figured the girls would forgive you for sleeping instead.
Tyler was the first to notice you had fallen asleep toward the end of the livestream, and took it upon himself to jokingly lie down on you. The sudden weight of Tyler’s body made your eyes open, and you looked down at the brunette to smile at him. “Can I help you?” Tyler chuckled at your question, but the peace broke apart when Ethan jumped onto Tyler’s stomach and rested on him. Tyler let out a pained groan from having been elbowed in the gut, but you laughed and let both the boys struggle to fit onto the couch. Amy, who sat on the opposite side of the room with Chica, watched amusedly as Ethan and Tyler managed to stretch out on top of you. Cuddling with your friends was platonic, and no one thought anything of it considering no romantic feelings were involved.
Mark sat beside Amy and threw his hands into the air. “My cuddle gauge is low, too!” He announced, only to get a look of feigned disgust from Kathryn as she separated a camera from its tripod. Your eyes, which had shut the moment Ethan stopped kicking his feet, opened so you could watch Mark pout. You looked to Amy, silently asking for permission to invite her boyfriend into the cuddle pile. She responded by abandoning Chica to cross the room and splay across Ethan’s back, who did the same to Tyler, whose head was in your lap. Mark groaned, annoyed his girlfriend got to the couch before him, and followed suit to sit on everyone’s legs.
The four of you shouted teasing insults due to Mark’s butt on your lower halves, but he only rolled his eyes and slipped to fit into the pile. Mark, because of his short stature, was pushed to be sandwiched between the back of the couch and the pile of his friends. He accepted his fate and took Amy into his arms. Your left arm draped over the couch to avoid being crushed under Tyler’s head, and you stretched your legs out so there would be a bit more room. The sofa wasn’t exactly the largest, so it was a miracle almost everyone was able to fit.
As usual, Kathryn was the last to want to do anything remotely humiliating. The last time you all convinced her to join in on a friendly cuddle session, Ethan accidentally kicked her in the shin and that had been the end of that. This time around, however, she settled for sitting by the foot of the couch and scrolled through her phone as if waiting for a personal invite to the cuddle pile. Tyler poked the side of her head after a few moments, and Kathryn managed to find space between everyone’s legs on the opposite side from you.
Everyone leaned back into the couch. It smelled of men’s cologne and women’s perfume, and sunlight streamed in through thin curtains. Chica, having recognized Mark beneath the pile, decided to join in and claw her way into Kathryn’s lap. The gang was together in an odd position, but comfortable nonetheless. You felt safe, if not anything else. Being able to cuddle with a group of friends without any romantic feelings was a blessing until Ethan’s voice perked up beneath Amy and Kathryn.
For a ballerina, Y/N was horribly clumsy. It was almost comical, watching someone like her prance around onstage like a lopsided deer. She could never get the steps completely right, there was always little things that were off about her performances, but she truly loved dancing. It was one of the only things that made her happy, despite how foolish she looked.
In her velvet unitard, hair tied back neatly, she looked elegant, like she knew what she was doing. After all, she had been dancing her whole life, since she was a mere three years old. Her makeup was done neatly, her nails filed down to perfection for the dance she was about to do.
Very distantly, she heard Christmas music playing. Carol of the Bells, that was the song she would be dancing to. To her left, the silhouettes of fellow dancers that aside from skin color, looked just like she did. Prim and prose, looking like graceful dolls as they silently waited for their cue.
Y/N barely heard the music, it sounded muffled, like it wasn’t even there. She was trying to find someone in the crowd, the only person who always told her that she was an amazing dancer. The person who went to these concerts even when her own parents didn’t.
Mark Fischbach was the love of Y/N’s life. With the charm of the most unimaginable prince, a heart of gold, and a mind that held things that she could only hope to comprehend. He was her rock, the person that made her happiest in this world, and he never missed a recital.
But today, she didn’t see him.
The audience could see the sadness that plagued her face, through the forced smile and heavy makeup. She looked utterly wrecked, tearing up through a fast-paced song that she considered the be one of her favorites. This was supposed to be the most successful recital, the last one of the year, and he wasn’t here.
They had been dating for five years now since they first met in freshman year of high school. As Mark was working in college for a degree in engineering, she was busy working two jobs to pay for both their studio apartment and to continue the dance lessons. It wasn’t an easy life, but they were always there for each other.
On days before Mark had a test, she would wake up before him to prepare a breakfast, lay out his clothes for the day. As soon as he returned, there would be dinner out on the table and his smiling girlfriend waiting for him.
If she had a hard day at work, he would stay by her the entire night until she fell asleep. He would make her tea, or sing to her, whatever she wanted that would make her happy. He was always there for her, just as she was always there for him.
It wasn’t like she was angry at him for missing this one recital, but it was disheartening. She usually was her happiest while dancing but now she was aware of all of her mistakes. Y/N felt her face growing hot as she missed the beat, as she was still dancing while all the others stopped, as she nearly fell while bowing at the end.
She could hardly function while she collected her things to leave, tears filling up in her eyes and falling down her cheeks. Mascara smeared and face bright red with embarrassment, she ran home. There was no use in calling an uber when she looked as terrible as she did now.
Mark’s car was there, of course, he was home.
If it wasn’t so cold, she wouldn’t have gone inside, but she managed to trudge through the door. There he was on the couch, sleeping, with a half-full bowl of popcorn on his lap.
As she slammed the door shut, he awoke with a start.
“Babe, hey!” he yawned, blinking a couple times to take in his surroundings. His heart fell to his stomach when he saw her, tears trailing down her face, with her dance uniform on, “oh no...”
“You didn’t come,” she managed, voice crackling.
“Y/N, I thought it was tomorrow. I’m so sorry,” Mark rushed to her side but she flinched away, “I didn’t know your recital was today. I’ve been waiting for you to get home, sweetie I’m so sorry.”
“I told you this morning!” Y/N snapped, “I’ve been reminding you every day for weeks! You didn’t even call me when I wasn’t home on time because you didn’t care!”
Mark’s caring demeanor was gone, replaced with the face of a furious man, “are you really accusing me of not caring? This is the one recital that I’ve missed in literal years!”
“So why start now? You knew how much this meant to me!” she wasn’t crying anymore, just pouring out all of her anger. Every bit of frustration she had ever felt about having to work two jobs, about how shitty she was at dancing, about how she never saw Mark anymore.
“Well, I’m sorry that I was tired, Y/N. Do you really think it’s easy, working my ass off every day so maybe eventually we can have a better future?” Mark huffed, pinching the bridge of his nose. His growing headache was getting worse and he didn’t know what to do with himself.
“Oh, you have it difficult? Try working two jobs every day, with multiple shifts, just so your boyfriend can go to college. Try pursuing your dream even though everyone treats you like garbage because you aren’t the best at it. Try never seeing your boyfriend without having to make sure a monumental effort. I ask for one thing, Mark. One. It’s that you go to those recitals,” Y/N’s voice had grown eerily calm. It wasn’t raised any longer, and it was the scariest thing for Mark to hear. He knew he was beaten.
“I’m sorry.”
“Are you really?” she muttered.
Mark walked closer to her, settling his hands around her waist and pulling her against his chest. She laid her head there for a while, breathing in deeply the safe smell of his old t-shirt. After a while, she was wearing it, changed out of her uncomfortable unitard.
He was laying on the couch, now shirtless, but still cradling his girlfriend to his chest.
“I’m sorry that I got so upset. I know it’s hard for you, too,” Y/N whispered.
“It’s okay, I accept your apology. You’re worked up, and I’m here for you. You mean the world to me, little ballerina.”
