Eyes meeting, you could feel your knees buckling slightly. Everything around you froze, his eyes the only thing that mattered in that moment. His red eyes staring deep into your red ones. A slight smirk on his face when he notices the color differ from the other cullens. The boy looked so similar to your Alec, but it couldn’t be. He had passed long ago when you were just children, burned at the stake with his sister and you. You were however saved by Aro, he said he could feel your gift, but before he could bring you with him you ran. Not being able to stomach the sight of the dead twins. You had been on the run for decades before Carlisle asked you to join his family, under the condition that you would never tell anyone how you were turned. Everything was different now. How were you supposed to go back to forks when your mate was right in front of you.
Alice softly touched your arm, pulling you out of the haze, but before you knew it the boy had grabbed you and pulled you into the quiet hall. He spoke your name so quietly that only your enhanced ears would be able to hear it. Your body itched to get closer, but you resisted still not knowing the boy in front of you. How did he know your name? He couldn’t be…
“Alec?” You quietly spoke, eyes hesitant but hopeful.
“Do you not recognize me, my love.” His face was still stoic, but his voice held a tint of happiness.
Taking a step back, you shook your head. “No, no. You died! Your dead! You’re not here. This is just an illusion I’m making up in my head. You-you can’t be here.” Your head spirals, hands heating up as you feel your body starting to lose control.
“It’s me, love. It’s always been me.” His voice flows over you as you feel his arms pull you in. “I’m here.”
This is the first time i'm posting a note and i'm lowkirkuinely nervy !! Before we jump in, I want to tell you guys a little bit more about myself!
First, I'm 24, I live in Washington, I have two dogs, work two jobs, and have what feels like a million hobbies. I also have a boyfrie who I love so incredibly much!
Now that we got that out of the way, I wanted to let you all know this week will be heavily focused on mapping out where I want swan and sulfer to go, pre drafting chapters, and getting words into a document!
In the coming future, after swan and sulfer, I want to write more, mainly focusing on becoming orginal! I already have a mini series (potential full series) I want to right based off an AI vertical and I want to see if I can essentially take what shitty ai made and turn it into decent work.
Lastly, I dont know if anything will be posted this week. If I don't post, I'm aiming more for next week!
It was meant to be temporary. You had been a waitress but due to the decline in patrons, you had been let go and you were looking for work, putting up your resume on the community boards. He called. Offered you the job. It wasn’t a lot of money, and he apologized for that. But ‘he just wanted to keep you out of trouble.’
Charlie Swan, the town’s sheriff. The one with the serious face and the bristled moustache.
But as time went on, you started to see warmth. The way that he would help you put away the groceries that you picked up, even though he had been on the way out. The way he pre-rinsed his dishes at night so it wouldn’t be too much work for you in the mornings - but also leave you just enough work to justify having you actually be there.
Things grew comfortable. Things grew - almost unbearably domestic.
You started cooking for him, once you realized that some of the produce you bought kept going bad because he would forget about it, and grab dinner at the diner instead. He’d come home to tupperware in the fridge, filled with simple meals, and instructions on top, written on a post-it-note.
Eventually that evolved, as things often did. He’d come home rather than to the diner, so that he could eat your cooking while it was still fresh. And he’d demolish every single bite of it as if he never had anything tastier.
Spring came. With it, the storms. Loud, lightning, thunder rolling. Sometimes you would stay over, because Charlie didn’t want you driving on the roads. Sometimes he’d even stay with you, unless he was called out for an emergency.
Summer came. You’d bring him lunch in a picnic basket and you’d sit on the tables outside of the station, enjoying deviled eggs and ham sandwiches.
Autumn came. The two of you sat over the dining table and carved pumpkins for the front porch. He dressed up as - well, a sheriff. You, in turn, dressed up as a maid. You got knowing glances from the parents of trick-or-treaters.
Winter came. You were there more nights than not. Charlie attempted to help you with Christmas dinner. The mashed potatoes came out runny - while also being lumpy. You ate every bite.
Eventually, your title started to change. Eventually, he stopped paying you and invited you to move in. You picked up shifts at a restaurant in Port Angeles, despite the drive. The maid costume - well, that might be used again one day, for other purposes.
I could only assume the emptiness that I felt was the same emptiness Bella felt when Edward left. The type of empty that keeps you awake until your body fails, only to be woken up from a nightmare.
Jacob somehow got Seth to go with his makeshift pack, and Leah followed. I knew, in my heart, Leah needed to get away from Sam and the pack, as much as she claimed she was there to protect Seth. I spent days on the Cullens' couch and nights at my dad's house in my old bed. I couldn't go home to the space I shared with Paul. He seemed to be everywhere while still being nowhere.
My heart yearns to beat in sync with his; my arms itch to hold him. Being loyal to my sister had made me the enemy. I miss him. I could tell the separation was taking a toll on my body, and out of pettiness, I was hoping he was facing the same hell.
"Here you go, Rory! It's warm; be careful!" Esme said, snapping out of my thoughts. Placed in front of me was a warm glass of tea. Jacob was curled up in the corner sleeping; Seth and Leah were patrolling.
"You should go to him." My attention snapped from the tea to my nearly mummified sister. Her face was sunken in, her eyes dull. She looked like the embodiment of death, and for once in my life, I'm glad my dad didn't know. Bella looked terrible, but I could imagine I wasn't looking any better.
"He doesn't want to see me. It's ok. Maybe it's better this way." My eyes flickered in between my glass and Bella. Edward lingered by the window, looking over the yard. When Bella adjusted on the couch, so did I. My eyes flickered across the people in the room. Rosalie was sitting on the neighboring chair; Emmett and Jasper were bickering underneath the stairs.
"They're here." Edward said abruptly. Jacob jumped up from a dead sleep, stomping outside. Out of reflex, I moved with him. I felt like I was being pulled. Standing on the massive porch of the Cullen Residence, I saw him. He stood in front, Embry and Quil behind him. Upon hearing me, his attention met me, eyes locking on each other before he turned his attention back to Jacob. If my heart were a separate entity, it'd leap out of my chest and run home, run to Paul.
"You know, as soon as that leech kills Bella, it's dead. " I knew he was talking about the baby, but my mind wasn't focused on whatever he was saying; it was focused on him. I wanted him, yearned for him. He looked like he was in perfect health, so maybe I'm being over dramatic.
I stood there until the conversation was done, simply not wanting to miss a second of Paul. Jacob stormed off while I stayed rooted to the porch. The sudden urge to cry washed over me as I went back inside the Cullens' house. The collection of people in the room shared sympathetic glances, sent lightly my way. The eyes on me made me want to crawl out of my skin.
"Why don't you head home, Rory?" Carlisle said softly, his voice full of concern. "You look ill."
Ill. That was one way to put it. I felt like I were decaying from the inside out.
"Yeah," I forced out, my voice barely above a whisper. "Yeah, I think I will."
Not waiting for them to respond. I booked it out of the glass house, almost running to the car just to escape the oppressive sympathy.
The drive was a blur of gray trees and wet asphalt. I didn't go to my dad's house. I couldn't. I couldn't handle Charlie's oblivious questions or the heavy, quiet guilt. Instead, I pulled into the driveway of the home I were supposed to share with Paul. The house that was supposed to be a sanctuary, now reduced to a hollow shell.
It was never supposed to be like this. It was always Bella's world, and we were all just living in it. The mess she got herself into was now actively ruining my life. Instead of fighting for the love of my life, my soulmate, I'm watching my sister die in slow motion.
The silence inside hit me like a ton of bricks the second I stepped over the threshold. It was too loud—the quiet pounded in my ears, amplified by the ticking of the clock on the wall and the sound of my own loud, uneven breathing.
Pouring a glass of cheap red wine with trembling hands, spilling a few dark drops onto the counter, before walking into the bathroom and twisting the hot water tap on the tub. Steam quickly billowed up, fogging the mirror, hiding your sickly, exhausted reflection from view.
I poured in a heavy splash of soap, watching the bubbles rise, desperately chasing anything that might numb the violent ache in your bones.
I was never one to sit with my feelings; when everything got too overwhelming, too loud, I wanted to disappear. In high school, Paul was the only one who understood what it felt like, how it made me act, until he too left.
Stripping off my dirty clothes, I stepped into the scalding water. It stung, but the pain was a welcome distraction. Slidding down until the water lapped at your chin, I rested my head back against the cold porcelain, clutching the wine glass against my bare chest like a shield.
Knowing it would take me a second to slip under the water and never resurface, I opted to close my eyes, but it was a mistake.
The second the dark took over, Paul was there. The memory of his hot skin pressed against mine, the memory of his heavy arms wrapping around me in the pouring rain, his voice rough and broken as he kissed my cold lips.
A harsh, broken sob tore its way out of my throat, echoing off the damp bathroom tiles. I pulled my knees to my chest, spilling wine over the side of the tub, unable to stop the tears that finally broke through.
The yearning wasn't just a thought; it was a sickness. It was an agonizing, ravenous hunger that consumed every single thought, every breath, every heartbeat. I hated him for looking fine. I hated him for being on the other side of that invisible line. Most importantly, I hated yourself for loving him so fiercely that choosing my sister meant tearing your own soul in half.
Leaning my head against my warm, wet knees, drowning in the hot water and the freezing loneliness, praying for the wine to kick in, praying for the noise in your head to finally stop, praying for the ache to decimate me completely so I wouldn't have to feel it anymore.
* Embry loves waking up before you because it means he can quietly enjoy listening to your heartbeat while you peacefully sleep
* He always wants to tell you about the latest comic book he read or the newest sci-fi show he’s obsessed with. Including you in his hobbies makes him happy because he knows you won’t judge him.
* Embry’s usually quiet around groups of people but the second you’re alone he won’t stop talking. He’s loud and funny and animated, you bring out the light in his eyes and he can’t help but be excited when he’s with you.
* He knows you love him, but he gets jealous easily. When he sees another guy showing interest in you, he’ll go quiet and watch the interaction. He’s not the kind to blow up or get angry - he’s the type that gets stuck in his thoughts and worries he isn’t enough for you. Later he’ll ask about it and try his best not to sound jealous when you know he is. Cuddles and kisses always make him feel better though.
* When the boys hound on him for being whipped over you, he just shrugs them off and blushes. They don’t see the way you hold him after a rough night of patrolling, or the way you kiss him until there’s no breath left in his lungs.
* “You guys don’t get it” he’d say, drifting back to a daydream of your pretty lips
[i’ve finished the last chapter of ‘hands of fate’ just want to do some finishing touches then it’ll be out tmrw i swear x]

y/n’s pov:
“Hey, y/n, we should go do something before my wedding in two weeks; think of it as our last hurrah before I can’t see you for a while,” Bella says, coming into my room while I am doing homework. Senior year has been kicking my ass a bit as I am taking all honors classes.
I put down my pen and look at Bella from the spot on my bed. It’s been a couple of months since my birthday. Felix and I are going strong, and Bella and I are starting to mend things finally. I nod my head a bit. “What did you have in mind?” I ask her, giving her my full attention.
“I thought we could go hiking up in the mountains. I heard the snow is sticking up there, so it will be pretty up there.” She states a bit awkwardly.
“Bella, you hate the cold. Are you sure that is what you want to do?”
“I should probably get used to the cold, as I am going to be cold soon.” She states
“Okay, we will go hiking in the woods. Do we want to go tomorrow, on Saturday?” I ask
“That sounds good to me. We can get up early, dress warm, pick up some snacks, and hot chocolate before we go.”
“I’d like that; we should get to bed so we can get up early,” I state, plugging my phone in.
“Thank you, y/n/n, goodnight.”
“Goodnight, Bella,” I say as she exits my room, shutting my door on her way out.
I start to put my homework away when my phone buzzes with a text from Felix. ‘I wanted to say goodnight before I start my duties. Can I call you?’ I think it’s sweet that Felix still asks permission to call me. With a smile, I unplug my phone and press the call button on his contact. After a few seconds, I hear the deep voice of my mate.
“Well, hello, gorgeous, how was your day today?” he asks, his voice coming out a bit static through the line. He must be in his chambers still.
“School was alright today; classes are putting me through the wringer. I hate my American Government and Global Issues teacher; he is a transfer from another school, and he is tough. I finally finished my homework just ten minutes ago.” I state, “How is your morning going?” I then ask
“I don’t like how much homework they give you. I can hear that you are burnt out, my love. Are you taking care of yourself? And my morning is going well.”
“Yes, love, I have been taking care of myself. Bella and I are actually going hiking tomorrow, just the two of us, before she gets married. The next eight months are going to be long, but then I will be out there with you, where I should be.” I smile thinking of the day I won’t have to separate from my mate again.
“Bella and hiking? I never thought I would hear those words in the same sentence .” Felix laughs out.
“I know, right?” I giggle into the phone.
“Felix, come on, it’s time for duties.” I hear Demetri briefly on the phone.
“Aww Boo!” I respond, “Be safe, Fe, you too, Demetri.”
“I love you, Dove. Call me tomorrow when you make it home, okay, my love.”
“I will, Felix, I promise,” I say, flushed. I still haven’t worked up the courage to tell him I love him back.
“I’m holding you to it, Goodnight Babygirl.” He says before hanging up the phone.
“I love you,” I whisper out loud after I hear the phone click.
I plugged my phone back in and placed it on my nightstand before tucking in to bed wearing Felix’s hoodie that no longer smells like him. I still feel safe in it because it feels like his hug is around my body. I lay my head onto my pillow and close my eyes, lulling into a deep slumber.
Felix’s Pov
“I’m holding you to it, Goodnight Babygirl,” I say before hanging up my phone, placing it in the back pocket of my jeans under my cloak.
“Goodnight, Babygirl.” Demetri mimics me with a smirk.
“Shut up.” I point my finger at him, “At least I have a woman to call Babygirl.” I jab at my best friend.
“Hey, low blow, my person is still out there somewhere; they are just the reigning hide-and-seek champions. I will find them one day. " Demetri says determined.
“What about Heidi?” I ask as I thought they had a thing.
“Heidi is nice, but she is not the one for me; we are too different. We are better as friends. I did try to sleep with her once, but we both agreed that it was too weird.” Dem says as we are walking towards the throne room to see what is in store for us today.
“A bit tmi but good for you,” I state before walking into the throne room.
y/n pov
I get up with Bella the next morning at about six, and we are out the door by seven. We leave a note for Charlie on our way out. We decided to take Bella’s truck as it handles the mountain terrain better. The ride up to the mountain is filled with small conversations, laughter, singing, gossip from school, and comfortable silence. It is good to hang out with Bella like this; it reminds me of how we were before she met Edward and he started to pull her away from me.
“Did you know Jessica and Mike broke up?’ Bella asked as she pulled off the road just to the side of the trail.
“That honestly doesn’t surprise me,” I state as we get out of the truck. I look up and see the snow coming down hard. “Bella, I don’t think we should be hiking in this.”
“Oh come on, y/n, we came all this way; we can do this.” She says, passing me one of the two thermoses of hot cocoa.
“Okay then, let’s do this,” I state nervously. I have a really bad feeling about this, but I follow Bella through the snow-covered trail. We hike for about an hour, and I realize that we are lost; everything looks the same, covered in a thick layer of snow, and our clothes are starting to soak through.
I’m cold and starting to get angry with Bella as I asked her to turn around 30 minutes ago. “Bella, we are cold and lost. We need to figure out how to get back to your truck.”
“OH MY GOD, FOR THE LAST TIME, Y/N, I TOLD YOU WE WEREN’T LOST NOW DAMNIT LISTEN TO ME I KNOW WHERE WE ARE!” Bella yells at me.
“Bella, don’t yell; you could cause an avalanche out here, and that wouldn’t be good for anyone.” I start to hear branches snap, and I see snow starting to come our way. “Fuck Bella, run!” I state pushing her in front of me as we take off running…. Only I don’t make it far before the snow sweeps me in the opposite direction, and Bella doesn’t notice as she keeps running without looking back.
Cold, that’s all my body is feeling, and it's not the comforting cooling sensation that rolls off my mate's body. This is a bone-chilling, toe-numbing cold, a temperature so cold that your body feels like it is on fire. Is my body on fire? No, but my skin is red and angry from my current atmosphere. How long have I been in the snow like this? An hour? A day? I can’t remember.
The last thing I remember is going hiking with Bella. I told her she was crazy for wanting to hike the mountain when there was a snowstorm, but she didn’t listen and dragged me here anyway. Bella, is she okay? Did she leave me behind? Is she sending help? God, I sure hope so. If I am up here in the snow like this, I won’t survive. I try to move my legs only to regret it; my joints hurt from not being used for God knows how long. I move my shivering hands across the snowy ground, looking for anything, food or my phone, either of which would be useful to me during this time.
After feeling around, I feel a rectangular shape, and I slowly bring it over my face, pushing through the pain. I see that it is my now very cracked phone; please don’t be dead. I think to myself as I push the power button, and to my surprise, it turns on. I go into my contacts to try to call Alice. She’d be able to get to me quickest without Charlie getting law enforcement involved.
The phone rings as I bring it to my ear, once I hear the line click over, I quickly say before the person can talk, “A-Alice, help, I can’t move.” I chatter out.
“Mi amor, where are you?!?!” I hear the panicked voice of my mate on the other line.
“Fe? Why do yo-” I feel myself start to pass out as the phone falls to the ground.
“Y/n! Y/N! SHIT I’M ON MY WAY!” I hear the muffled voice of my mate before my eyes fall shut.
Bella’s Pov
“Alice, have you found her? If Felix finds out she’s missing, we are all in trouble.” Esme states worriedly.
“Esme, we have the boys out looking for her. We are going to find her.” Rose tries to reassure her mother.
“It’s all my fault; I forced her to go on that stupid hike with me. I just wanted to have some bonding time with her, but I had to yell at her, causing an avalanche,” I state, running my hands through my hair when I notice Alice’s eyes start to glaze over.
“Bella, it’s not your fault,” Edward reassures me by pulling me into a hug.
“Alice, what do you see?” I ask her once she's come to
“He knows, and he is not happy. They will be here in less than 12 hours," Alice informs us, glancing around the room.
“What does that mean for us?” I ask, not really wanting to know the answer.
“Well, Bella, that means we have 12 hours to find y/n alive; if we don’t, we all die.” Alice pauses before continuing, “Bella, you'd better hope she’s alive; you’re the one who left her behind.” I am in shock at the venomous tone that Alice has only used with me once before.
I am about to defend myself when Alice and Jasper just walk away. I look at Edward with hurt in my eyes, “She’s just worried about her best friend; she knows it’s not your fault, Bella.”
I just shake my head and let a few tears slip, “She is right, it is my fault. I wanted to go on that stupid hike, and now we are all in danger with the Volturi. I should have listened to y/n when she asked to turn around to go back to the car. We wouldn’t be in this predicament now.”
Felix Pov
I storm into the throne room on a mission- well, it is soon to be a rescue mission- “Masters, I am sorry to interrupt, but I have an Emergency back in Forks.” I blurt out as Aro looks worried and confused.
He walks over to me while holding out his hand to get a greater understanding as to what is brewing in my mind. It’s been all over the place since the phone call from my mate. I feel Aro shuffling through my more recent thoughts until he lets go of my hand and takes a step back. “Felix, you must leave at once.” Aro says, before side glancing Marcus and Caius, “And take Demetri and Jane with you,” he says with the wave of his hand.
“Thank you, masters,” I say while running out of the throne room to grab my already packed bag. I go to the common area to find Dem and Jane both reading. “You two grab your go bags; we have a rescue mission.”
Jane and Dem share looks of confusion before jumping up and running to their respective rooms. They met me by the entrance of the hall. “What’s this about Felix?” Demetri asks
“Y/n,” I say while walking out of the castle.
I can hear them both gasp before they run to the car waiting out front. We all sit in the back while the driver heads towards our airway, where the jet would be waiting. “Felix, what happened?” Jane asked.
“I’m not sure yet, but I got a call from y/n; she sounded hurt. She thought she had called Alice and asked for help.” I pause, “When I tried to get more information, the line went dead before she could respond.” I feel my eyes fill with venom at the thought that my mate could be hurt.
“We will find her, Felix,” Demetri says reassuringly. “I'll be able to start tracking her tenor as soon as we get on that plane.”
“The Cullens obviously can’t keep her safe; she’ll be coming home with us; she can finish her schooling in Volterra.“ I say bitterly.
“Felix, think about this. What about her father? He’s not just going to let her leave Forks; she’s still in school.” Jane softly tries to reason.
“Fine, she can stay in Forks, but I can’t trust the Cullens. If she isn’t alive when I get there, nothing will save the Cullens from me; they will no longer exist.” I say while bitterly looking out the window.
Alice’s POV
I am in the woods with Emmet and Jasper, and we are trying to track down y/n. Bella and her sister had gone hiking when Bella decided to yell, and it caused an avalanche; Bella then left without her sister. If my best friend doesn’t make it through this, I will never forgive Bella. I hear a faint heartbeat in the distance, “Emmet! Jas! This way!” I exclaim before taking off in the direction.
I see it first, my best friend unconscious in the snow. “Y/n/n!” I exclaim, sprinting towards my best friend. When I get to her, I can see that her fingers and lips are blue. I feel around her neck for a pulse and feel a very faint one. “Don’t worry Y/n/n, I’m going to get you to Carlisle,” I say and pick her up into my arms before sprinting off towards the house.
“Carlise! Get the blankets!” Jasper yells, opening the door for me to get y/n into our house.
I take her to the living room and put her on the couch gently covering her with the blanket.
Carlise comes into the room. “Alice, bring her into this room.” I gently pick my best friend up and follow Carlisle to one of the spare rooms in our house.
I put her down on the bed that has a heating blanket. “Alice, you change her into some of the spare clothes Bella brought; she needs to be changed out of her wet clothes.”
I start to dress my best friend in warm clothes when Carlisle leaves the room. I then tuck her into bed, and I put the heated blanket on low as to not shock her body. “Okay, Carlisle, she's ready,” I state and open the door to let him back in.
He comes in with an IV bag of fluid on its carrier. “She needs fluid and fast.” He sits down next to her bed and takes her left arm. After sterilizing everything, I watch him put the IV into her arm.
“Carlise, is she going to be okay?” I ask as I watch him attach the patches that will measure her vitals.
He looks at the monitor, “Her vitals are low, but I think you found her in time, Alice. She just needs to rest, and her foot is broken. I will have to set it and cast it.” He says, looking at her right foot
*24 hours later*
I have stayed in her room all night, watching her, making sure she is okay. Her vitals have started to go back to normal, but she still hasn’t woken up yet. Carlise has also taught me how to change her IV bag to make sure she continues to get the right amount of fluid she needs. Her internal temperature has also been rising. I hope that it will go back to normal by the end of today.
I decided not to let Bella see her yet, as it was her fault that she was there in the first place. Not only Felix but Demetri and Jane will be here in a little under six hours. I told Edward to keep Bella away from the house because he is beyond livid and rightfully so, in my opinion.
It is best that Bella and Edward are as far away from the house as possible, because when Felix finds out the truth, there is no saving them from his fury. I decide to get the room ready for Felix to stay with her. I know he will not want to leave her side until she is safe and woken up. I would not be surprised if he tries to take her back to Volterra with him. I will miss her, but I know he would keep her safe from all harm.
*Time skip*
There is an aggressive knock on the door, and dread fills my body as I know who is on the other side. I can most definitely assume that he is not happy. I quickly glide down the stairs and take an unneeded breath before I open the door to see the three Volturi guards' unamused faces. “Hello, Felix, I hope your flight was well,” I state nervously, trying to test the waters.
“Cut the shit, Alice! Where is my Mate?” Felix growls out
“She’s upstairs in stable condition.” I nervously say
“Send her down, NOW.” He demands
“I wish I could, Felix, but unfortunately she has not woken up yet.”
“IS SHE TRANSITIONING ALICE?! TELL ME THE TRUTH!” he raises his booming voice.
“Felix, I can assure you she is still human; we just don’t know when she will wake up.”
“Take me to her now, please.” He says defeated but still angry. “I expect a full explanation of what happened too.”
“Of course,” I say while leading him up the stairs, while Demetri and Jane stay behind downstairs.
I open the door to her room and let Felix enter it before I do. I stand back and watch as he walks over to where my best friend lies unconscious. His shoulders slump in sadness as he falls to his knees by her bed. He grabs her hand in both of his and rests his forehead on top of them after placing a kiss on her hand softly. I turn my back to give Felix a minute with his mate.
“Alice?” he softly calls, to which I turn around to see him already looking at me,” Can you stay for a bit? I would like to know what happened to her.”
I close the door behind me and walk over to the other side of her bed, and move the chair to the side Felix was on. I place the chair down about six feet away from him and sit down before I start to talk. “Bella wanted to go hiking up in the mountains. They were at such a high elevation that there was snow and a decent amount of it. Y/n and Bella had apparently gotten into a verbal argument, which led Bella to yell in frustration. Her yell caused an avalanche, and the two were separated. Bella made it off the mountain with only a scratch and some bumps. We could not locate y/n for two days. I finally found her last night with Jasper and Emmett; she was passed out. When I got to her, she had hypothermia. When I brought her back here, Carlisle said if she would have been out there even two hours later, it would have been too late. We have her hooked up to an IV so she gets the fluid she needs, and we have heated blankets on her body so we can slowly bring her body back to temperature. She also has a broken right foot, Carlisle set and casted yesterday. She will need crutches”
“And you don’t know if she’ll wake up?” he asks sadly.
“It is not a matter of if Felix; it is only a matter of when.” I pause before getting up and putting a comforting hand on his shoulder. “Carlisle said that she is most likely able to hear us. You should talk to her. I will leave to give you some time; if she will come back for anyone, it would be you.”
I see him nod softly, “Thank you, Alice, you’re a good friend who means a lot to my mate.”
I just smile at him in thanks before turning around to leave the room, allowing Felix to get some time with y/n.
y/n Pov
I wake up in a haze, confused. I realize that I am in my old bedroom. The bedroom from my real parents' house, it was the one we all lived in before they were murdered. I look down at my hands, and I see that my nails are done with the purple nail polish that my mother used to paint when I was five.
Thoroughly confused, I get out of my bed and slowly walk out of my room. I slowly pace myself to walk down the stairs, as I approach the end of the stairs, I hear clanking and hushed whispers coming from the direction of the kitchen.
“Hush, David, or you will wake up y/n/n; you know she had a long night studying again for her finals.” I hear a woman say in a quiet tone.
“Oh, Astella, you know our daughter could sleep through a hurricane.” I hear a deep but comforting male voice say.
“Honey, I truly doubt that, but our y/n can be quite the heavy sleeper.
I walk into the kitchen with tears pooling in my eyes. “M-Mom? Dad?”
I see them both turn with smiles, “Oh my baby, what's wrong, are you alright?” My mother turns off the stove and walks over to me.
My parents appear much older than when I saw them last before they were taken from me, but right now it looks like they have never suffered any of the injuries that they were put through. When my mother stopped in front of me, I pulled her into a hug. When I feel my mother's warm embrace surround me, I could not stop myself from sobbing. “Shh, y/n/n, it is okay, I am right here. What is wrong?”
I hiccup a few times as I try to breathe so I can calm down enough to talk. “Here, love, let's get you sat down.” My mother gently led me to the all too familiar kitchen table, she pulled out my chair and gently pushed it back in once I sat down.
“I love you, Mom and Dad, so so much,” I reply as my tears have slowed down to a trickle.
“We love you too, kiddo. Is there something wrong?” My father asks me, putting down his morning paper.
I shake my head, “No, no, nothing's wrong. Everything is perfect.” I say sadly smiling at them both.
“I must say, Honey, Charlie has done a damn good job raising her,” my mother says sadly.
My heart breaks at my mother’s words, “T-that wasn’t just an intense fever dream.” I ask in agony.
“No, Sweetie, that really happened; this is the dream, unfortunately.”
“That’s what I was afraid of. How do you know about Charlie?” I ask
“Well, Kiddo, we are always with you. We have been here the whole time, watching over you.” My father says.
“I wish you guys were still alive.” I cry out
“We are alive, in here.” My mother points to her heart.
“Can’t I stay with you, please?” I ask in desperation
“Sweetie, you know you can’t leave him,” my mother says
“Leave who?” I ask
“Felix, you can’t leave your soulmate behind for eternity. He loves you, and he treats you well. Don’t leave him all alone; you both deserve to be happy,” my father replies.
I walk over to my parents and give them a hug; they both wrap their arms around me and kiss either side of my forehead. “We love you; you can open your eyes whenever you're ready, okay.”
“I love you both too. I won’t see you again, will I?” I say before I feel them fade away around me. “MOM, DAD!!”
I feel a cold, soft hand gently caressing my cheek. I still don’t open up my eyes yet because my parents told me that I didn’t have to until I was fully ready. “Mi amor, I am so sorry this happened to you. I am sorry that I wasn’t here to protect or rescue you. Please don’t leave me behind; I need you. I need you here with me, where you belong. Our story isn’t supposed to end here; in fact, it is not supposed to end at all. We have so much to explore and experience together. I love you, and I will be waiting for you to come back to me; however long it takes, I will be right here by your side.”
My heart soars at the sound of the man's smooth voice. I walk around in the dark until I see a beautiful man sitting at a woman’s hospital bed. I get a bit closer, and I realize that the woman is me and the man is...Felix. My mind floods with all the memories of Felix, and I, all the sweet letters, all the FaceTime calls, my birthday. Everything comes at me all at once, and all of a sudden, I am running, no, sprinting, as fast as I can towards my hospital bed. When I get to my body, I take a breath before I touch my hand.
“BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP.” I hear a constant rhythm of noise, which makes me squint my eyes tightly before I slowly open them with a groan. I tighten my hand, which is intertwined with Felix’s.
“Felix,” I whisper, my voice hoarse from not being used.
“Little Dove, you’re awake.” Felix laughs a bit before kissing my forehead. “I'll go get Alice and have her bring you some water.”
I watch Felix walk out of the door as I shiver. I carefully try to pull the heated blanket up higher around my body, but I don’t really succeed as my body feels very weak and my right foot aches really badly. I look down and see that it is casted up.
Over the course of the next few days, my body temperature continued to rise, and I started to feel stronger every day. Felix has been a big help, but he refuses to leave my side for more than a few minutes at a time. The Cullens have been nice enough to allow me to stay during my healing time. I am still a bit fuzzy about what exactly happened, but I knew that I was with Bella, and we had fought. Speaking of Bella, she hasn’t come around to check on me because Felix is down here, and he won’t let her. I know he blames her, but it was just as much my fault. I should have listened to my bad gut feeling. Charlie has been by to see me; he brought me my favorite snacks and some flowers for my room here after one of his shifts at the police station. He has been busier than usual; people are going missing left and right on the mountain. He was glad to see me alive and well. He hadn’t met Felix yet, as he was out with Carlisle to get some blood bags, I assume.
Felix only trusts Carlisle and Alice with my care when he has to step away. Jane and Demetri had to go back to Volterra yesterday, but Aro is letting him stay a bit longer until I am in the clear. I know he wants me to go back with him, but I still want to finish out my school year with my friends before I will never see any of them again.
“I’m really sorry, Dove, but I have to go out and attend to something for the Masters. I promise I will be back by tonight.” Felix states, coming over to my bedside, sitting on the corner of my bed as he strokes my hair a bit.
‘Ah Boo! But I understand, I think I will see if Alice wants to go do something, I kind of need to get out of this house a bit. I’m feeling a bit stir crazy.” I say, leaning into his touch.
“I think that is a great idea, Mia Amore. You girls, have fun and be safe.” He says before kissing my forehead and standing.
I pout a bit, “No kiss?” I ask a bit teasingly.
“My love, all you have to do is ask. I just haven’t wanted to hurt you accidentally or overstep.” He states nervously
“Fe, you can’t overstep with me. Can I please have a kiss?” I pout and sit up as much as my foot would let me with my cast. Carlise said that tomorrow we have to X-ray it to see how long I will need the cast; hopefully it’s not too bad, so I can switch to a boot instead of crutches.
He gently caresses my cheek and leans down to meet mine. I kiss him back, gently nipping at his bottom lip as we start to pull apart. I hear him groan a little bit, “Easy there, Babygirl, you are playing with fire.”
“Maybe I want to be burned,” I whisper against his lips before placing a kiss on his jaw.
“As much as I would love to stay here with you and continue on with this, but you are still injured, and I don’t want to accidentally hurt you. Plus, I really have to attend to this, unfortunately. I’m really sorry, my love.” He states, sincerely looking me in my eyes.
“Then let that be an incentive to come back to me,” I say, pulling him into another kiss. I pull away after some time. Finally, it felt like the right time. “I love you,” I whisper against his lips.
I feel him smile and pull away. “I love you too, my Dove; I’ll be back before you know it.”
“Don’t keep me waiting too long, Love,” I say as I watch him exit the room. I let out a breath after he leaves. I finally did it. I told Felix I loved him back, and it felt right.
a/n: I've been binge writing and editing since the last post was made. I am almost through part 5. I just need to outline part 6 next. My husband had to come and pull me away from my laptop a few times before I could actually allow myself to go to bed. I had to keep begging him to let me write for one more hour, as I had finally reached a flow state. He just wants to make sure I am staying healthy. We have been working on my insomnia since I have been with him, and he doesn't want me to go backwards. I never thought I would find a love like the one I write about, but I have, and I am blessed to be able to be my most authentic self with. My mom starts Chemo next weekend, so I will be more active to distract myself so she can go through treatment. Her first one is almost 8 hours, and I will need to distract myself with something positive. My husband works a lot and really hard, so I can stay home while we are stationed where we are. with out further ado, please enjoy this next part as much as I did writing it. ~Kenzie

Warnings: Fluff, angst, Alice is a good best friend, mostly a feel-good chapter with a bit of angst at the end.
I am awoken up the next morning by the sunlight beaming through my slightly open window. Yawning, I reach over to unplug my phone from the charger on my nightstand. 11:45 in bright white letters stares down at me. I slept much longer than I intended to. While stretching, I noticed a piece of paper folded up nicely on my bedside table. With curiosity, I pick it up and admire the familiar cursive. Smiling, I open it and read the words that adorn the page.
‘Dove, I’m staying at this address, xxx room 240. I hope to see you soon! ~Fe<3’
My smile widens until it is from ear to ear. I jump up from my comfortable, warm bed and walk over to my closet to pick out today’s outfit. I keep it simple yet cute, just some jeans, an old graphic tee with a long shirt under it. I shower, brush my hair and teeth, put on my earrings and necklace, then finally I make my way downstairs.
I see Charlie eating brunch at the table, “Morning, Dad!”
“Good morning, y/n/n, any fun plans for today? How was your party last night?”
“Well, a friend of mine that I met in Italy is in Seattle, and I was wondering if I could go see them?” I ask while pouring myself some coffee into my favorite mug.
“Does this friend of yours happen to be a boy?” Charlie questions.
“Um-” deciding not to lie to my dad, I reply honestly," yes, his name is Felix.”
“Alright,” he nods his head before continuing, “Well, be safe and have fun, no funny business; he'd better keep his hands to himself. I trust that you will make smart choices.”
“Wait- Really!?! Thank you very much, Dad!” I exclaim from my spot at the table
“I learned the hard way from your sister Bella that teenage girls will do what they want, no matter what I tell them. I might as well let you go if you are going to do it anyway, at least that way I know where you are.”
“Thank you so much, Dad.”
“Just shoot me a message if you are planning to be home after curfew. I have to be at the station later tonight.”
“Okay, Dad, be safe tonight, I love you!”
“I love you, too, kid, have fun.” I’ve known Charlie almost my whole life, and he rarely says it back; hearing it makes me smile a bit.
“Of course, I am going to hit the road, I've got a bit of a drive to do. I’ll make sure to check in.” I said before running upstairs to grab a few things.
I grab my phone and charger, wallet, a few movies, and a board game. I put all my things for today in one of those cloth bags that are often taken to the beach. With my keys in my right hand, I walk out of my house and to my car. When I get in it, I notice how far the seat is back, compared to my size. I cannot even reach the pedals, let alone the steering wheel, no matter how far I stretch my arms and legs.
Giggling and shaking my head, I adjusted my seat forward, back into the position that it was in before Felix drove it. My first stop before I hit the road towards Seattle is the Cullen’s house to pick up the things that were left there from last night. I also decided to go over to the Cullens’ to make sure everything sorted itself out, and tensions aren’t too high.
When I pull into their driveway, I can only spot Alice’s car out front, “ALICE, are you in?!?!” I shout when I open the front door.
I see my pixie looking best friend in front of me, not even a moment later, “Hi, Beautiful! Hey, I am very sorry about last night's events and my actions.”
“Oh, Alice, don’t even sweat it; nothing could have possibly ruined my day yesterday! I appreciate you sticking up for me as you did. Felix makes me really happy, and I am glad that people are beginning to understand it.”
“I will always stick up for you! Here are your gifts from last night, too.” Alice says, handing me a bag and a small cooler.
“Hey Alice, what’s with the cooler?” I asked, confused, but took both items from her anyway.
“There are a few blood bags in there for Felix; he and Carlisle have a deal. He said that he won’t hunt while he is here unless it is necessary. These should last him until he gets back to Volterra.” Alice explains
“Thank you again, Alice. How are things going after last night?”
“A bit tense, I’m not taking to Edward, and Bella is mad at me, so she’s not talking to me either. I’m sure it will all work itself out. You should start heading to Seattle. We can talk about all this later. Felix is anticipating your visit.” She said before hugging me, then shooing me out the door.
I place the cooler and my bag of gifts in the back seat before heading out towards Seattle. I only stop once to pick up a few things to make in the hotel room for me to eat. I also get some ice to put in the cooler to keep the blood cold; it’s at least another hour before I make it there.
After about an hour or so of driving and singing songs at the top of my lungs, I finally made it to the hotel that Felix said he would be staying in. I take the cooler, my bag of groceries, and the bag that has the movies in it inside with me. I take the elevator to the fourth floor and walk down the hallway looking for room number 240.
I take a deep breath before knocking twice when I find it. A second later, an unamused Felix opens the door while talking, “Look, I told yo-Y/n/n you actually came!” He laughs a bit, pulling me into a hug.
“Yes! Of course, I did. I’m sorry, it is a bit later, I accidentally slept in.” I reply as he closes the door behind us. “Felix, I brought you something, courtesy of Alice Cullen,” I say, holding up the cooler with both hands.
“It’s okay, my Dove, you are here now,” He gently takes the cooler out of my hands and carefully slides open the lid, “Blood bags? Thank you, babe, you didn’t need to!”
“It honestly was the Cullen’s idea; they appreciate that you told them you would only hunt if you absolutely needed to,” I state while walking over to him and cupping one of his cheeks, slowly leaning in.
Felix places down the cooler, only removing his face from my hold for a second. He then snakes both of his arms around my waist. Slowly, he brings my body closer to his. I place one of my warm hands back on his cheek, and our lips touch in a short but breathtaking kiss.
“So, I brought a few movies and a board game for us. I know that you can’t leave here due to the sunlight today. So we’re going to have a chill day in.” I say as we pull apart.
“You are absolutely amazing, you know that?” Felix asks, resting his chin on my shoulder as I prepare my popcorn for the movie.
“I may or may not have been told a few times.” I joked before turning around in his strong arms.
I gently push on his chest to create distance between us as the popcorn beeps. I turn my head to take in his appearance; he is in gray sweatpants and a black V-neck tee shirt.
“See something you like, sweetheart?” He teases
“Wouldn’t you like to know.” I tease before refocusing on getting my popcorn out of the microwave.
“Yeah, well, that is precisely why I asked babe,” Felix says, coming back behind me to place his cold, strong arms around my waist again.
I turn to look over my shoulder at him, “Of course I did; I almost like you far too much to let you ever leave me again.” I say and place my hands on his chest lovingly, though the no heartbeat was slightly strange, it was also comforting for me. I don’t know if I can handle another long-distance, especially now.
“You can always come home with me, Dove; I will never stop you from coming with me. All you have to do is say the words, and we are gone.” He says sincerely.
His offer really tugs on my heartstrings, but I can’t just up and leave my dad. “As tempting as it is to drop everything and go with you, I can’t; not yet, at least. My dad will want me to finish high school, but in like ten months I’ll be all yours, for the rest of forever.” I reply as he allows us to walk to the bed in front of the TV, where I carefully pull open my bag of popcorn.
“Just as I will be yours. Truthfully, I always was, I have been waiting for you for over a thousand years, you know,” he says while putting in a random movie.
“Really!?! Haven't you ever had a girlfriend?” I ask, moving myself to sit cross-legged on the comfortable bed, placing the bag of popcorn so it is resting on the outside of my legs.
As he makes his way to me, he shakes his head slightly. “I never got too involved with anyone seriously, more of a no strings attached thing at times. But when I knew that the person who was made for me could be out there, I stopped all of it. Y/n Y/m/n Swan, I loved you before I even knew you existed. I always prayed I would get the chance to meet you, even though I am not really the religious type. Please do not feel pressured to say it back, I know that you need time; humans don’t feel as intensely as vampires do.”
I place my warm hand on his cold cheek, making us make eye contact, “Thank you, Felix, I have a deep regard for you too.” I press a quick, gentle kiss on the tip of his nose, “Now, why don’t we watch this movie before my popcorn gets all cold and stale?” Not that I would mind, I like stale popcorn as much as Bella teases me for it.
After the movie finished, we ended up putting in the sequel, and by then the sun was high up in the sky, shining brightly into the room. I glance over at Felix and admire the dazzling-looking diamonds that adorn the skin of his hands, neck, and face.
“What?” He asks as he starts to shy away from me.
“Hey, please don’t hide from me, you’re beautiful,” I state, placing my hand on his shoulder.
“You wouldn’t find me beautiful if you knew all the terrible things I have done in this lifetime. I'm quite the monster, the things I have seen and done, you would be right to run.” He says, looking down in defeat.
“Felix, you are not a monster; you only do what you have to do to survive. It’s not your fault you didn’t ask for this,” I say, moving myself to sit in front of him. I turn his face upwards to make eye contact with me.
“I know, but a small part of me believes that what Edward is saying is right,” he sighs, defeated.
“What do you mean, love?” I ask, confused.
“That I am no good for you, that I would just ruin yo-”
I cut him off mostly by accident, “Nonsense, Edward is just a prick! Felix, I want- no, I need to be with you, regardless of what happens to me in the end. Please just don’t let Edward, of all people, ruin this for us, and don’t ever let him get to you.”
“A very, very small part of me can’t help but feel like there is someone out there that would be better for you.”
“Trust me, there is not. Felix, I see the way Edward treats my sister. I fear that if I were to be with anyone else, I would be treated the same way, and I don’t want to go through that. I do not know if you know the details about everything Edward has done.”
“What do you mean by that, Dove?”
“Well, for starters, he has endangered my sister’s life at least five times now. I was there for about two of them.”
I am interrupted by Felix’s Growl, “He has put you in harm’s way.” Felix starts to get up from his spot.
“Hey, babe, wait, let me finish, sit down, please, this is important,” I say, gently grabbing one of his big hands in my own to stop him from getting too far.
“I will, don’t worry, Dove, I am just going to grab one off the bags out of the fridge.” He gently murmurs to me before walking into the room's kitchen. He comes back a moment later with a blue tumbler cup that has a straw sticking out of the lid.
He slowly drinks as he sits down in front of me. I admire his eyes as they change shades of red. “Bella was being hunted and almost died at the hands of a tracker named James. Then there was her eighteenth birthday, and I watched Jasper almost kill her over a papercut, and of course, Edward had to make it worse by pushing her into the glass mirror. There was also the time in Italy, at first, I was afraid for my own safety. When I was in the throne room, you noticed and calmed me down. When we both got back, there was Victoria, who was mated to James. She wanted justice for him. There was a big battle because she had Riley create a newborn Army to take out the Cullens after her graduation. Edward took Bella and I camping up the mountain to keep us ‘safe from the action,’ But if it wasn’t for Seth, our younger werewolf friend, I would have died. Riley had snuck up on me while Bella and Edward were distracted. ”
“Wait, you were saved by a werewolf of all people. I’m surprised.” I see a small crease in his forehead before he puts his empty cup on the nightstand and opens his arms for me, “Come here, little one.”
“They actually aren’t so bad. Jake, Bella, Embry, Seth, Quill, and I used to be really close when we were kids. My favorite had always been Seth's older sister, Leah, though.” I state
I maneuver myself to lie on his chest, as he starts talking in a soft but stern voice, “If you say so, my love. If Edward ever, and I mean EVER, puts you in harm’s way again, I will separate his head from his body, and his head will be taking a trip to Volterra with me as his body will be left in Forks.”
“Wouldn’t that kill him?” I ask, playing with his fingers while looking at the ceiling. As much as I hate Edward, I wouldn’t want to hurt Bella so deeply.
“No, the only way to kill one of us truly is to burn the body after tearing it apart.”
“So, no wooden stake through the heart?” I joke.
“Just a little painful, but not enough to do the job completely.” Felix slightly giggles in amusement.
“Damn, looks like Anne Rice has failed me,” I state in mock defeat.
He is about to respond when my phone rings. He picks it up, looks at it, and then passes it to me, “It’s your dad.”
In confusion, I answer the phone, “Hello, Dad, is everything alright?”
“Oh, thank God! There was an accident on the 101; it's going to be backed up for a while. Are you still in Seattle then?”
“Yeah, I am in downtown Seattle. How long do you think it is going to be backed up for Dad?” I ask
“Um, quite a while I heard, and I don’t want you on the highway that late at night, it’s not safe.”
“So, do you want me to just stay put, then head home in the early morning when the road is clear?”
“Well, I don’t particularly like it, but if you stay put, I would at least know that you would be safe for the night.”
“Alright, Dad, sounds good.”
“Hey, are you still with your friend?”
“Yeah, why?”
“Put him on the phone, please.”
My eyes widen as I slowly pass the covered phone to Felix, “He wants to talk to you.” I whisper very quietly, knowing he can still hear me.
Felix grabs the phone from my hands, and I hear him answer, “Hello,”
“Yes, sir, of course.” He nods.
“Goodbye, sir, have a good night.” He passes the phone back to me with a smile.
“I love you, Kiddo. I’m glad you are alright”
“I love you too, Dad. I will see you tomorrow sometime.” I put my phone down and smile at Felix after he hangs up.
“So now what do you want to do, Giant?”
“Well, now that it is starting to get dark, we can go out if you want. There should be a carnival today, or we can go to an art museum.”
“Uh, I am not sure what I want to do. I am down with whatever, really. I just love hanging out with you.”
“Alright then, let me look up some things to do.” I watch Felix as he pulls out his phone and taps it a few times.
“I know what we are doing!” He exclaims with a smile.
I can’t help but smile seeing him so relaxed and happy. “What is it?”
“We are first going to go shopping to get you a dress.”
“A dress? For what?” I ask
“There is a ball tonight, and we are going to attend it!”
“Felix, I um I can’t dance, I have what most would call two left feet.”
“Well, luckily for you, your mate has been alive for a very long time and has become a very strong lead over the years.”
“Okay, but I am apologizing now for your feet,” I say as we get up.
“You won’t hurt me, silly girl. Now, I will be back. I am going to get dressed, and then we can leave.”
I respond with a quiet okay as I put my purse together. After no time at all, I noticed Felix walked out of the bathroom. I noticed something that was different and made him look a bit off. “Felix, are you? Are you wearing contacts?” I look into his now chocolate-brown eyes in astonishment.
“Yeah, I would have chosen green, but brown is the only shade dark enough to cover the red.” He says, rubbing the back of his neck.
“Well, I like them; they suit you very well.” I nod with a small smile.
“Why, thank you, Little Love, now why don’t we go and get you a nice dancing dress for tonight?” He states, grabbing my hand and spinning me around in a circle.
I giggle as he leads me out of the hotel room, closing the door tight behind us. I smile up at him as we step into the cool evening air.
Finding a dress was a lot easier than I expected. Felix was not much help, though, as he thought I looked good in every single one. All it took was a quick message to Alice, and then I was walking out with a dress that she said I would look best in.
"y/n, my love, are you all ready? We don't want to be late for the ball tonight." Felix asks, gently knocking on the hotel's bathroom.
"Yes, just one second!" I exclaim, finishing the finishing touches on my hair via Alice's FaceTime instructions.
"You look stunning, y/n/n now go have fun!" Alice says before hanging up the phone.
I take a deep breath and smooth down my lilac dress before I slowly open the door with my gaze nervously to the ground. I slowly look up when I hear Felix let out a gasp.
I see him leaning against the doorway with one of his strong arms. I admire the suit he is wearing when he speaks, "Cara mia, you look absolutely stunning."
A small, shy smile breaks out onto my face, "Thank you, Fe, you look amazing as well."
He reaches his hand out towards me, "Are you ready to go, my love?"
I placed my hand in his and allowed him to lead me out of the bathroom. "I'm as ready as I will ever be," I state
"It's going to be okay, I will never let you fall," he says before locking the hotel room's door.
"You already are," I mutter under my breath, as I have started to fall for him.
"What was that, Cara mia?" He asks
"Nothing! Let's get to the dance before we are late." I quickly say.
Felix grabs my hand as we walk the short distance to the ball. He hands over the tickets to the bouncer at the front entrance. The bouncer looks them over before moving the red rope out of our way, "Enjoy your night, Mr. and Mrs. Volturi!"
I let out a small, inaudible gasp as Felix guides me inside with his hand on my lower back. "I'm sorry, Cara, if I knew they would refer to us like that, I would've asked them not to."
"Felix, it's okay, it didn't bother me, it only shocked me a bit, I actually liked the sound of it," I state as we enter the dance floor.
Felix brings me closer to his body, one of his hands is holding one of mine, whilst the other is on my waist. I place my free hand comfortably on his shoulder as he leads us through the room in pace with the tempo.
"Where did you learn to dance, my love? You don’t have two left feet at all, just looks a little out of practice is all." Felix asks me after he spins me.
"Before my mom and dad were murdered, we all used to dance together in the kitchen. But my dad used to dance with my mom like this, I used to watch them from our couch," I state sullenly.
"I'm so sorry y/n/n." Felix states, placing his forehead on mine.
I move one of my hands to cup the side of his face in the palm of my hand. "Fe it is okay, it doesn't hurt me anymore to talk about them."
He gently kisses my nose before moving down to my lips. The rest of the dance goes by smoothly, and before I know it, my feet are sore, and the Ball is over. I sat down in one of the chairs, and I gently started to take my shoes off when Felix walked over to me. "Cara, that won't be necessary." He says before he gently picks me up off the chair.
He carries me out of the venue and down the street until we stop at a little park just before our hotel. He gently sits me down on one of the swings, and he takes the one right next to me.
"Thank you for tonight, I really enjoyed myself," I say, admiring his side profile.
He smiles before turning towards me and responding, "Dove, it was no problem at all, you deserve nothing but the absolute best."
"Felix, you are the best," I say with a slight yawn.
"Thank you, Dove. Now, let's get you to the room so you can sleep." He states, holding his cold, large hand out to me, to take.
I let my small warm hand rest in his as he leads me back to our hotel room. Once we are both inside, I take my shoes off and sit on the edge of the bed. Felix walks around me and grabs some clothes out of his bag. He comes and squats down in front of me so he can see my face. "Here are some clothes for you to wear to bed, love."
I gently grab the big shirt and sweatpants from Felix, "Thank you." I say softly before walking into the bathroom to change.
The big sweatpants won't stay up on my waist no matter how tight I tie the strings, but that is alright because Felix's big shirt comes down and rests just above my knees. I quietly open the bathroom door after hanging my dress on the hook on the back of the door. I walk out of the room and see Felix already in bed waiting for me. He looks at what I'm wearing and smiles teasingly. "Were the sweats too big, Love?"
"Yeah, they kept falling off even when they were all the way tightened." I slightly laugh.
"Well, as long as you are comfortable, that is all that matters. Now get over here and snuggle with me," Felix says, patting the spot next to him.
I climb into bed and lay my head on Felix's chest while he plays with my hair, petting it softly. "Goodnight, Felix," I whispered tiredly.
"Goodnight, my Dove, sleep well." He says before gently kissing my head.
Sooner than I realize, my eyes slip shut, and I am in a deep, restful slumber.
*Time Skip*
I am awoken the next morning by Felix softly playing with my hair. "Good morning, Sleeping Beauty. How'd you sleep?” Felix asks me softly
"I slept great. What time is it?" I ask in a sleep-laced tone.
"It is 11:45, are you hungry? I ordered you some breakfast."
I look over and see a plate at the small table with a small I turn to Felix, "How'd you know that was my favorite?" I question with a small smile.
"It was a lucky guess, now up you go, before it gets cold." Felix sits with me at the table while I eat.
After my breakfast, I showered and got dressed. I walk out of the bathroom and see that Felix is starting to pack up his stuff. "What time is your flight?" I ask sadly
"It's in two hours, but it is going to take at least an hour to get to the private airport." He states, folding one of his shirts.
"Okay, so we have to leave in the next ten minutes," I state, collecting all of the minimal belongings that I brought with me.
Ten minutes later, we have checked out of the hotel room and are now making our way to the airport. The drive is filled with laughter and off-key singing on both Felix's and my part. We make it to the airway just as the private jet lands.
I park my car off to the side of the airway and turn off the ignition with a small sigh, “Fe, do you have to go?" I ask, looking over at him sadly.
“Unfortunately, I do, “He reaches over and cups my check resting his forehead on mine. “My love, you can always come with me; you don’t have to stay here.”
I snort out a little laugh, “Yeah, Bella would have a heyday with that one.” I sigh softly again, “I would if I could, without question.”
"I know,” Felix whispers against my lips before kissing me with passion. I kiss him back with just as much passion, but because of where we are, I pull away and place one last peck to his bottom lip before things can get too intense.
“We should get you to the jet so Aro and Caius don’t get mad,” I say before we both exit my car. I close my door but don’t bother locking it as I can see the Jet from right here, he gets his bags out of the trunk. We start to walk over to the jet hand in hand.
I stop us in the middle of the walkway and pull him into a tight hug, “I’ll miss you.”
He wraps his arms around me, being mindful of how tightly he is squeezing. “I will miss you too, my love. Stay safe for me, okay.”
I pull away from him to reply, but I am cut off by a voice coming from the jet that is started, “Felix, we have to get back, we can’t be late .” I sigh before replying, “I will try my best, as long as Edward and Bella don’t pull anything stupid that would put us in danger.”
“If Edward does anything to put you in harm's way or you are hurt while I am away, I will personally rip him apart limb from limb and scatter the pieces across the whole world.”
“Easy there, Gladiator. Nothing is going to happen to me, I promise.” I say before I lean up on my tiptoes to kiss him on the lips. “Now be safe, too.”
He kisses me back before replying, “Good, because if one hair on your pretty little head is misplaced, nothing would be able to stop me from hurting those responsible.”
I smile at my mate before responding, “I will see you soon.” I hate goodbyes, and Felix knows this.
I look at him, confused as I watch him start to take his hoodie off before holding it out to me, “Here, you will need this more than I will.”
I take the hoodie from him and pull it over my head, allowing his comforting scent to wash over my body and fill my senses. The hoodie is much too large for me; it comes just below my knees, and the sleeves pool over my hands. This doesn’t bother me one bit; it makes me feel like I am in a protective cocoon.
“Felix, come on, man, you are going to see her again.”
I pull him into one more hug, and he rubs my back, “I will message you when I land Dove.”
“You'd better. Now you have to go before the jet leaves without you, and your masters have my head.” I say jokingly, pushing him away from me softly.
He nods and starts to walk away from me. I keep watching his giant figure as it starts to get smaller and smaller, the further away from me he gets. Tears sting my eyes as the pain in my chest grows greater as I watch him get into the jet and see it take off, getting smaller and smaller the higher into the sky he gets.
I rush to my car before I have a breakdown in the middle of nowhere. I only allow myself to let out a painful sob when I am in the safety of my car. Sobs rake through my body as my head rests on the steering wheel. I am startled by a small tap on my window. I quickly wipe my tears on the sleeve of the hoodie before I roll down the window to see my best friend, Alice.
“Alice? What are you doing here?” I ask sadly
“I had Jas drive me up here because I knew that you wouldn’t be in any condition to drive, now scoot over so I can drive you home.”
I just nod and carefully climb over the center console into the driver's seat. Once Alice is settled into the car, I quietly let out a weak, “Thank you.”
“Of course, y/n/n it is what friends are for,” Alice says before pulling out and driving away from the airway and starts to head from Seattle to Forks.
Felix’s Pov
I just make it back to my chambers when Demetri comes barging into my room, “FE YOU'RE BACK! How was your trip? How’s y/n/n?” He asks me, wiggling his eyebrows at me.
“Dem get your mind out of the gutter. My trip was great, and y/n/n is good. She was a bit upset that I had to go, but that can’t be helped.” I say putting my cloak on over my shoulders.
“That’s good to hear. I would love to hear more, but duty calls; the masters are eagerly awaiting your arrival.” The blonde vampire said as we started to make our way toward the throne room to meet with my masters.
I walk inside the throne room and stop when I am just in front of the three kings who are on their thrones. Aro stands and puts his hands together in front of his body, “Ahh, Felix, I take that your vacation with your love was a good one.”
“It was almost perfect aside from a bit of family drama due to Bella and Edward,” I reply honestly.
“Speaking of Edward and Bella, do you have anything to report to me, Felix?” Aro asks curiously.
I take an unneeded breath to dramatize my next point, “Bella is still human.”
I see Caius get a deadly look in his eyes, “They are making a fool of us, brother! Something must be done.”
“Now now, Caius, let’s await the Cullens’ next moves. Anything else, Felix?” Aro asks me.
“Bella mentioned that they have the date planned out, something about wanting to be able to attend y/n graduation,” I reply.
“There stalling.” Caius angrily spits.
“We will give them until young y/n’s graduation; if it is not done by then, they will be facing grave consequences.” Aro sinisterly smiles. “Thank you, Felix, you may report for guard duty now.”
I bow my head and respond, “Thank you, Master Aro.” I walk out of the room to find where Demetri is.
If things get any more tense with the Cullens, I will just end up bringing y/n to Volterra much earlier. I don’t want to infringe on her wishes, but her safety is my top priority. If that happens, she can just finish her studies online from inside the castle, where I can be there to keep her safe and out of harm's way.
