Or maybe people diss him because he’s an awful and unlikeable character & love interest (especially compared to John smith) and considering the fact that he’s pretty sexist and condescending toward Pocahontas (he’s even pretty effin rude to her father when they first meet as well), is pretty controlling toward Pocahontas, doesn’t try to get to know her as a person or learn more about her or her culture, only tells her she’s beautiful when she’s dressed and acting like an English woman (he also buys her this tacky necklace that is clearly not her style and never took the time to see if that god awful necklace is her style or not which to me shows he just wanted to buy her something fancy just to show off his wealth which is another red flag right there but that’s another post or two), mopes around on his ass and doesn’t do squat to help Pocahontas when she’s literally about to be executed, doesn’t even tell Pocahontas that it was John smith who immediately jumped on his horse to save her while he was moping on his cowardly ass and deliberately knocks something over when Pocahontas and John smith are having a heartfelt reunion and conversation after being separated for so long I would say the hate and dislike is pretty reasonable and warranted

No but imagine how disappointed, shocked, confused, baffled and disgusted Pocahontas’s father was when he found out his daughter dumped the brave handsome Chris hemsworth look alike that took a bullet for him for an ugly spineless cowardly bland snob who didn’t even try to rescue her when she literally was about to die

Ok I just thought of something that kind of gives me the ick. In Pocahontas her father tells her that kocoum has asked for her hand in marriage. But what if kocoum knew that Pocahontas didn’t have romantic feelings for him and he asked her father because he knew she probably wouldn’t say no to her father (or have much of a choice at all)

Team Rolfe when John Rolfe only tells Pocahontas she looks beautiful when she’s wearing powder to make her skin look whiter : omg so romantic, wholesome, not racist at all and such a green flag 😍🥰🥺

I find it interesting how I’ve never seen team smith excuse John smith calling Pocahontas and her people savages but I’ve never seen team Rolfe point out that leaving Pocahontas to die was wrong

Uhh, literally every person I’ve seen that dislikes red flag Rolfe has pretty valid and legit reasons to dislike that cowardly pansy. And two that’s rich coming from the same people who like to push this false narrative that John smith was a toxic jerk that treated Pocahontas like crap and red flag Rolfe was this sweetheart who only treated Pocahontas with kindness and respect so yall should sit this one out.
