#7098 Town x Fine Balance Symbiosis (Canada) You already know we had to come with the #TeamLactose gem. Coming in at 7.2%, this is a mash up of Town’s Astro Ever After and Fine Balance’s Oats & Cream, with Mosaic and Nelson Sauvin hops (I believe). It pours hazy with a fluffy head and a sweet nose, the body is creamy af with blueberry and tropical vibes, it’s baalnced with mango and pineapple notes, it’s just so damn drinkable, the lactose is used as perfectly as it is in Oats & Cream and it’s as smooth as Astro, wrapping in a dry, sticky finish. #7090 BG Brasserie Urbaine x linkupbeer.org Link Up (Canada) Link Up’s Series 3 round of collaborative beers is here, and we’re kicking off with the Quebec City legends at BG! They delivered a 7.7% sour ale with blueberries, blackberries, marshmallow and lactose - this is the first #TeamLactose beer in Link Up (I believe?), let’s go! It pours a murky deep purple with a light pink head and a juicy nose, it rocks Mosaic Cryo, Citra and Chinook hops, it’s hella creamy and sticky, there’s some subtle vanilla from the marshmallow, the lactose delivers some body without making it too sweet, it’s even a touch bitter, there’s tons of juicy berries, it’s a hella crushable summer beer, wrapping in a dry, refreshing finish. #6900 Bellwoods x Superflux Fromage Homage (Canada) This bad boy is Belly’s take on Superflux’s The Creamery cheesecake-inspired beer, and mate, it actually tastes like cheesecake. Shouts to @notionbaby! It’s wild. Coming in at 5.5%, it’s essentially a milkshake IPA (#TeamLactose) with raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, lactose, vanilla and graham crackers. Lord. It pours a hazy deep purple with a foamy head and a fruity nose, the body is smooth and creamy with vanilla and graham up front, the berries dominate (they call it bumbleberry due to the combo), it’s juicy yet dessert-like (it’s kinda trippy), hella silky, balanced, insanely crushable without being too sweet, wrapping in a dry, clean finish. #6793 Labrosse Oat Couture (Canada) #TeamLactose time. This bad boy is an 8% Oat Cream IPA with Citra and Simcoe hops, and mate, she’s a beaut. It pours murky af with a foamy head and a tropical nose, it’s 50% oats so it’s insanely creamy, sweet and chalky, there’s orange jelly bean vibes (according to the tasting notes - love this), candied peach notes, super soft with earthy, piney vibes, wrapping in a sticky, dry finish.
