Candle

They had been curled on the couch, Michael playing video games, and Kari watching, when the power went out. It was lucky he wasn’t in the middle of something he needed to save. Kari was content to sit in the dark, and it seemed Michael was as well for a few minutes. Though he did get up to check the electrical, letting her know they had indeed lost power, and it wasn’t something he could fix. It was probably the whole block. They’d have to wait.

Karidee pulled out a couple vanilla candles, setting them on the table, and lighting them so they could see. Walking over to Michael, she gently rubbed his shoulders, trying to calm him, pressing kisses to the back of his neck and shoulder blades. Once she felt the tension leave, she stopped to move in front of him, take his hands and lead him back to the couch. Gently pushing him back down, she straddled him, and pressed a kiss to his lips.

“You look so handsome in candlelight,” she mused. The dim candlelight softened everything, brought out the warmth in all his features. Dipping her head into the crook of his neck, she pressed a light kiss to his collarbone, before resting her head on his shoulder. “Can we just go back to cuddling now?”

The Gent’s eyes widened briefly when Michael kissed him, but after the shock passed, he eagerly kissed back, blue eyes fluttering shut.

Ryan couldn’t help the blush that spread across his cheeks at Michael’s words. He cleared his throat and rubbed the back of his neck, averting his gaze to the floor which suddenly looked more interesting. "Y-yeah? S’that so?" He asked, flicking his blue eyes towards the younger male, a blond brow arched slightly, his bottom lip caught between his lips as he considered Michael’s words. "I-I uh… Yeah." He muttered, a small smile gracing his lips.

“Michael,” Kari whined, “Answer the phone.” It took her a moment, and a couple blind kicks at his side of the bed to remember he wasn’t there tonight. She sat up with a sigh and reached for the phone. Her eyes widened at the realization it was Michael calling. Did he not know what time it was? “Hello,” Kari muttered into the phone, “Why are you calling so late?”
