Oct. 9th - Day 24 - Post 20
It really sucks that I didn't post yesterday because yesterday was a pretty awesome day. I did a Zumba class at club fitness and it was my 1st day at the new gig. I got hired at Macy's in their Retail Services dept (call center). I'm training for the next 4 weeks and when they said training, that's what they mean! HUGE binder of information and a ful size classroom that I will call my home until November. I won't even go out on the floor officially until I graduate, pretty cool & exciting because this is so different for me. I was nervous at first because after 6 years at my previous job I decided to put myself out there & go in a different direction employment wise. Mainly to find something to work around my writing & acting aspirations & help me save for my move to Atlanta where things are really poppin. Everything was/is so new to me, filling out applications, going on interviews (usually I was the one giving them) starting from the bottom all over again when I've been at the top & used to it for so long. But this right here, the decision I made to start the job hunt again & enter into a different work force was necessary & will be worth it. So when yesterday was over, I was running down my 1st day with the bf & expressing feeling a certain way about it all, getting nervous about whether I'm going to be able to keep up, its so much information for the next month, am I gonna live up to my responsibilities blah blah blah. He simply says to me "after listening to everything you just said, I know now you are exactly where you're supposed to be." Fear gone & complete comfort & encouragement came in 2 seconds. Yea, my guy is pretty amazing and my GOD is way more dope. I can't even right now... *sigh*
Anywho this is the run down for yesterday & today. I need to start doing a countdown until the end of the phase 1 in createme (which I still have to update ya'll on smh!!) because there's this whole weightloss team challenge and the winners are determined on Nov. 20th. Its so much, you'll get in.
FOOD
(Yesterday)
Breakfast: none
Pre gym snack: banana
Snack: whole wheat bagel, harvest cheddar sunchips & like 5 Werther's caramel candy. NOT OKAY. I just totally underestimated my 1st day of training & bringing food
Dinner: 2 bowls of kashi cereal with 2% milk :( no almond milk. I so need to go to the grocery store. fried catfish sandwich.
TODAY
Breakfast: none
Lunch: grilled chicken salad with romain lettuce, eggs, avocado, vinagarette
Snack: Beef jerky from the vending machine.
Dinner: breakfast sandwich (2 eggs, sausage on whole wheat bread with daiya cheese) <== this is projected so hopefully YUMMERS
No exercise today, I will be attending someone's class tomorrow.
MIND: I was able to sneak in some pages of my Paleo book on break at work :)
Lastly, shout out to my mom like one day at a time she is making me more proud of her. She's taking her health more seriously and being more intentional about her eating & working out but what really makes me smile is that she's putting herself in the postion to be taught. She watched Dr. Oz the other day and they were talking about everything sugar (which is everything I've been preaching about lately and just bought a book on) and to see her really take everything I've been saying in & really get it is awesome. I'm so happy that SHE GOT IT FOR HERSELF so now I can trust that she will apply it FOR HERSELF! I decided to give her the "Beyond Sugar Shock" book I bought to read as apart of her Oct. challenge. I love helping ppl that want to be helped.
WELP, that's my time. I will talk to you all on tomorrow. Love and blessings :)

Food for the soul
Oct. 6th - Day 21 - Post 18
I've decided that its confusing to post a day tha I let pass, so from now on if I miss that day then I just missed it. [Sounds of Blackness-Optimistic is on repeat as I type this lol! Its so necessary, I dance so tuff in my mind when this song plays, its not a game.] So I decided right this moment that while I post about food for my body, I'm going to start adding a little something in here about the food I'm feeding my soul. I've started a new bible plan called "Why Read the Bible?" self-explanatory. I'm tackling this feeling/struggle I have to read the Bible out of obligation with no joy. That ain't right!! But its honest. I know when you stay in contact with the Lord you have no other choice but be impacted & changed by Him in a myriad of ways. I'm choosing 1 way right now & building in that which is reading my word daily. One step at a time. I will read daily but I won't post daily because there are somethings that when revealed need to stay between me & Him until told otherwise.
FOOD FOR THE SOUL (Day 4)
Direction of the Scriptures: What does this verse tell you about God's relation with His Son? What do you think the purpose of the Old Testament is? Scripture: John 5:39, I started from verse 14 & read thru to grasp the full message of the chapter. What sticks out to me & I love is how Jesus pointed out that people study the scriptures diligently to gain eternal life when that can only be found & gained in Christ. The Scriptures testify to this, to Him but people rather put their trust in each other, the scripture, the law of Moses, etc etc. & they actively ignore the fact that with all the above God has caused them to prove His Son.... dope
FOOD
Yesterday I had 3 pancakes, 1 sausage & 2 whole eggs for breakfast and nothing else for the rest of the day.
[TODAY] Lunch: 1 bowl fo kashi cereal (1 serving) almond milk & regular skim milk (only because I was almost out of almond milk)
Dinner: Shogun (Japanese restaurant) -shrimp tempura roll 6 peices, salad, 2 bowls of miso soup, chicken & steak, fried rice, noodles, veggies & 2 jumbo shrimp. 1/4th of this is in the fridge for tomorrow.
FITNESS
Yesterday, I did 25 minutes on the elliptical, not the 30 like required I was distracted from being on the phone. So I'll have to call judge to see about what this does to week 1 for the october challenge. lbs (laughing but serious) Didn't do my yoga today, have to talk to see about that too, try to get away with doing my yoga tomorrow... I'll start classes at the gym on next week. ZUMBA ZUMBA ZUMBA!!
Alright so this has been my time, my allergies are KICKING MY TAIL!! I can't, I really just can't :( say all the prayers.
