Little Button's rescue was the result of a 911 call from a concerned citizen from the Rockaways who had seen this tiny pocket pittie living scared and alone among the thick brush and weeds down by the bay for way too long now. Thank god that the officers responding just so happened to be friends and supporters of RR, and called us after observing her terrible condition. She's been brought to our Queens partner vet @animalhospitaloftherockaways where she was completely assessed today. It appears she's a bait dog who was abused and then later dumped in the remote area that she was seen. She has multiple bite wounds that are severely infected to the point she needs to be put under sedation for them to be debrided 😔 So now she's currently been admitted to the vet for further care and spaying. We are asking you all to please take a moment and make a donation to our newest member. We can't continue to rescue these much deserving souls who just happened to end up in the wrong hands, that is, until they somehow made their way to us, without all of you in our corner. Roscoe has never known care or kindness until very recently... His former owner beat Roscoe so severely with a two-by-four that Roscoe is now blind. His eye sockets and skull were literally crushed by being beaten so badly that he went blind. The ONLY slightly bright side to this story is that the subhuman that used to own Roscoe was caught and is now in jail for animal cruelty charges. We can't imagine how scared and frightened he was having to endure this brutality, and how scared he must have been when he landed at the kill shelter where he was in danger of being put down until we stepped in to take him with the help of some of our very special donors. Despite everything he has been through, in true pit bull fashion, three year old Roscoe has nothing but love for everyone he meets. Please consider opening up your heart and home if you are in the NYC or the 2 hour surrounding area. 4/16/16@hemiverse *ACC GIZMO IS SAFE BUT STILL NEEDS FOSTER* Our precious pink-nose Angel is out the building safe & sound! This guy is just unbelievable… Almost couldn’t drive home because he immediately was lap bound! This is Gizmos’s second time being sprung from Acc and will definitely be his last. Unfortunately we did have to bring him to one of our vets to board until we secure a foster for him, which is hopefully very soon. Giz is about a year & half old and could not be any sweeter. He’s dog and very people friendly and fully vetted. We will cat test him hopefully this week. Everything that this cutie possibly needs is provided to foster families; food, crate, leash, collar, toys etc. All he needs is a place to crash for a while, and hopefully a lap he can cuddle up on ❤️ If you are within 2 hours of NYC and want to be Gizmo’s hero please contact @HEMIVERSE and fill out adoption application at www.redemptionrescues.org (at New York, New York)
