To have my oldest niece with me today was to have my sister with me 💕 and today’s marks were at times incredibly hard, for everyone in the room. So grateful for @melanesianmarks Julia Mage’au Gray and @vasagray for helping me move forward, process and release a lot of pain locked up in my core / sacral chakra 🧡 Hope everyone will sleep well tonight, it’s a new moon, a fresh start. I went back to see #Wantok today at #Māngere Arts Centre, to soak it all in again for a review I have the pleasure of writing for #ARTtalk, Fiji’s independent online art magazine. I sat in the space that #TufalaMeri created, falling in love with their work, “Tufala Meri Blo Tiu” (2018) and seeing myself again and again in their work, literally and emotionally, and in this show. I love that.
