I finally finished this video, it's been sitting and waiting as a 90% finished product for weeks. Now that I had some time off for Thanksgiving, I could finish it. Woohoo! Enjoy. Remember HD is your friend.

Bucky fell backwards, his nerves set alight with nothing more than utter fear as he looked up at Steve. His Steve. 

The same Steve whom he’d taken care of after his mothers death. The same Steve whom he’d pull out of a fight in a back alley. 

His. 

“What? You wouldn’t, we-we fought against those sons of bitches we-” 

“Buck, it’s still me, I just-” Steve struggled for words, his blue eyes pleading, yet now venomous.

“No! Stay away from me!” Bucky shouted out, his right arm swinging out and catching Steve in the chin.

With his left arm now gone, he felt extremely vulnerable. His blue eyes, usually so full of storms, were now full of fear. Not just any fear, but fear of what would happen if he allowed Steve to take him. 

This wasn’t his Steve. No this was Some sort of mockery of Steve. His Steve would have never have done this. His Steve wouldn’t raise the hairs on the back of his neck like this. His Steve.

“Please leave me alone-Please.” Bucky begged, his voice low and shaking with instinct.

“Buck..” Steve winced.

“Just, go.” The brunette whispered.

His Steve wasn’t here. Steve inhaled sharply, tears rolling down his face as he quickly turned and left. Only glancing back once.

His Steve was gone.

So I watched Civil War for the 2nd time AND IN THE MIDCREDITS SCENE

Spoilers for those who haven’t seen, so

When Bucky say it's better this way for everyone during the midcredits scene

The first time I watched, I was concentrated on Steve ("STOP HIM DAMMIT") and coming to grips with the fact that Steve didn't stop him because it was a choice Bucky made of his own free will. And just generally being an emotional mess because NOOO HOW CAN THEY [WRITERS] TAKE SEB STAN AWAY FROM ME--I MEAN BUCKY FROM STEVE--AFTER ALL THAT.

This time, when Bucky said it was for everyone, I watched him and realized that he also meant that "everyone" included Steve

Because Steve's got friends this century, a lot more than he ever did. And Bucky being alive and free damages that, because Steve will keep choosing him over them and everything else. But Bucky doesn’t see himself fitting in Steve’s 21st century life. He’s got too much blood on his hands, red on his ledger, Steve’s a living legend of a hero, and Bucky’s a wanted assassin.

“your friends.”

 “I’m not sure I’m worth all of this.”

UGLY SOBS

Steve doesn’t drop his shield when Tony tells him to leave it or when Tony tells him that the shield doesn’t belong to him  (Nat tells Steve the same thing earlier, that the shield is government property). Steve only stops and drops the shield when Tony pulls out his last, bitter trump card--my dad made that. And Steve, literally, on one hand has a shield that’s been his for almost a hundred years, a weapon and a symbol for what he was fighting for, and on the other hand, has Bucky, his oldest friend, who killed the man who made it.

And he drops the shield. He chooses Bucky.

AND THEN THE MID CREDITS HAPPENED AND MY  STUCKY HIGH WAS BLOWN (AGAIN FOR THE 2nD TIME) AND MY EMOTIONS ARE A MESS . AGAIN.

That part where Steve stops and drops the shield is probably also the part where Bucky really decides what he thinks has to do for Steve (he was likely already thinking about it in the quintjet). Because he thinks Steve can’t keep doing shit like that just for him. ;-; 

NOPE JUST LEAVE MY HEART SHATTERED HERE I’LL BE FINE

ALSO IT'S BEEN TWO WEEKS AND I'M STILL NOT OVER THE FACT THAT THEY [writers] DANGLED TONY'S MIND THERAPY GLASSES THING + TONY'S PLANS TO SHIP BUCKY TO A PSYCH FACILITY (god don't you love how he's thought out what to do and how to help /after/ Steve finds Bucky? Though I know the glasses were also for him BUT IT CAN’T BE DENIED THAT IT WILL HELP BUCKY TOO) ONLY TO GIVE US THAT MIDCREDITS SCENE SOBSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

AND CAN WE TALK ABOUT THAT “at least recognize me” WINTER WIDOW SCENE PLEASE SOMEONE TALK TO ME BC RED ROOM TRAINING  PLZ
