"I... can't help but to feel the same," Victor says with a blush. Everything was confusing, and he knew it would be. It had always been, but ever since they kissed, everything was just... a lot. He had more drawings of her in his sketchbooks, which led to him hiding them a lot more from everyone. He didn't go and see Victoria at times he was supposed to. He didn't like that he was feeling so secretive. And then there's the fact that he doesn't know how to express to Emily any of this with words. She was better at that than him. "I'm happy to end up with you, Emily. It's... you bring new light and life into my world that I never could have expected."

"I vowed not to cry anymore." - Emily

His quiet for a moment. Looking down at his own hands folded in his lap. Emily has been open with him before--she's been vulnerable. But every time she is, it just pulls him in deeper. "Sometimes I think its okay to cry," he starts, softly, looking up at her, his hand shakily going to rest on her arm. "But I think you've been given reasons to cry enough for more than one lifetime. And I... I don't ever want to be a reason you break that vow." Without saying it, he's made yet another promise to her that he's unsure if he can keep, but he means it. He never wants to be a reason that she cries. It would break his heart when if he broke hers. "I... care deeply for you, Emily. I don't..." his hand slides down her arm, his fingers tangling with her. "I want you to be happy."

“There’s no morning glory, it was war, it wasn’t fair.” - emily

"The world, sadly, doesn't worry over being fair. Terrible things happen every day and we're expected to go on despite the hurt the universe might've caused." Rarely did Mavis think these bleak thoughts but it mainly came out of the privilege that life granted her pardon on the harshness of life itself, unlike that of what Emily has experienced. "What you went through wasn't reasonable at all. The bright side in all of this is that I think you're handling the best out of a horrible situation. You're a very strong person, I hope you know that." It takes a tough person to handle the complex knowledge of death, something Mavis might've not been able to understand had she not been born into her certain lifestyle already. "And if there's ever a moment where you don't feel as resilient as I see you then you can always come to me for a reminder," the end of her lips turned up in a small, encouraging smile.

Mavis had heard rumors of a new vampire running among Animania but the search wasn’t easy. It’s not like she could ask around. Nevertheless, it was a bit exciting for her to have a possible new vampire friend but she had to remember the prospects of how they came to join the blood sucking species. Unlike most vampires in Animania, Mavis was born into the life, she never experienced a heartbeat and was older than most. The process of helping a new vampire transition into the life was something she would happily aid in but nothing she could truly comprehend. How could she understand the loss of a past self? How would she feel over a second chance at life? Answers to these questions were only things she could speculate over.

Who knew that when she’d entered a restaurant, just mere blocks away from her hotel, Mavis would find exactly who she needed? Better yet that she was tending to her lone table. It was easy to look out for the lack of a heart’s natural rhythm, not many could relate.  She was sure the other could tell she didn't have one either. “Hi, I’m Mavis. Can we talk? I think you and I have something in common.”
