         It should have struck Elijah odd that Caroline texted him and not Niklaus directly; even more strange that she had asked him this favor. It was for his brothers sake of course, as it seemed this woman was another in a long line that struck his brothers fancy. Sitting in the rental car outside the place he'd said he would meet Caroline, Elijah waited.

         This was not a trip he hadn't made before; driving from Virginia to Louisiana could be therapeutic -- but it was long and arduous. At least he would get to know the woman traveling to New Orleans to be with his brother.
