“What you do defines who you are” versus “Who you are defines what you do...”  Both sides were represented in the movie “Across The Universe.”  This Thanksgiving dinner debate was sparked by Max’s desire to drop out of Princeton University.  When pressed for his opinion, dinner guest Jude (it was a Beatles inspired film!) offered words of wisdom: “It’s not what you do, but it’s the way that you do it.”  Cornell Tech, on Roosevelt Island, provides “an urban campus that allows room to think...”  Their Tech Walk is a public space.  The grassy paths are ideal for anyone who thinks more clearly while walking:)  (Photo taken on June 16, 2018)

“I’m New York City born and raised...” (”I Am... I Said” by Neil Diamond)  Many native New Yorkers have walked over the Quennsboro Bridge.  But few have been on the recently opened Tech Walk.  It is a grassy public space on the Roosevelt Island campus of Cornell Tech.  Another Neil Diamond song describes his childhood school experience: “Mama’d come to school/And as I’d sit there softly crying/Teacher’d say, ‘He’s just not trying/He’s got a good head if he’d apply it/But you know yourself/It’s always somewhere else...’“ (”Brooklyn Roads”)  (Photo taken on July 29, 2018)
