Yesterday we had another meeting-that-should-have-been-an-email and the guest speaker had quite the thing to say.

"Giving decision-making to AI, risks poor results AND deteriorates human problem-solving skills."

When the techbros are starting to question AI dependence...

Welp. I was right. Those were not TSA staff, they were ICE and they were all armed. They failed to arrive in an unmarked car or a TSA vehicle. So that was jarring

I hate this time line.

Overheard at yet another Tedious TechBro Lunch today: TSA will be visiting at least one Major Tech Employer in Washington State from May 6 through May 8 for ... Reasons. (Reasons that involve review of immigration and/or work status and the paperwork proving such apparently.)

And I ponder this.

If TSA agents are not being paid, and ICE is deployed to airports in place of the unpaid TSA staff... who are the TSA agents at the these Terrible TechBro Company events?

I'm going to guess it's gonna be ICE.

Granted TSA as a whole is just an incredibly useless department, kind of like the Saal-Schutz. Every one say "Thanks Patriot Act"! But ICE... ICE is where the ProudBoys found a home. ICE is effectively the Schutzstaffel. Everyone say "Thanks continued funding of the Patriot Act!"

Things are going to get interesting soon. Keep an eye on your friends.

EDIT: UPDATE 23-APR-2026 Today's morning meeting brought very bad news. Out of all the times we've had TSA visiting our Major Seattle Tech Companies the last 7 years, this is the first time they will be armed. Our meeting host made this a whole entire topic.

TSA will be on site and they will be armed.

But don't worry! They won't actually be shooting anyone so don't worry! Just don't go near the reserved rooms. Or run at them. Or make any sudden movements in their direction.

TSA might be doing the interviews, but they are bringing ICE.

I think i'm going to accidentally be really really sick that week.
