"Nick of time" really IS a great episode on ai dependence. The fortune teller machine doesn't EVEN give direct answers. You're supposed to ask a yes or no question, and most of the answers are like, "What do you think?" "The answer is obvious." "Do you dare to find out?" And somehow you psych yourself out because the brain releases dopamine when it thinks it's made a connection between things. The mystic seer is like chatgpt because it is ALSO a confirmation bias machine, and the people who become dependent on it get stuck in a permanent state of "helpless dread." I do highly recommend it.

Yesterday we had another meeting-that-should-have-been-an-email and the guest speaker had quite the thing to say.

"Giving decision-making to AI, risks poor results AND deteriorates human problem-solving skills."

When the techbros are starting to question AI dependence...
