A LITTLE CHEAT SHEET ON CONTRAXIA
Planet Coordinates: M15 5127512731+X1955KX Climate: Icy tundra wasteland with clustered cities Most Known For: Named “The Debauchery Capital” of the universe
Sleezy, shady, and all around unpleasant to visit, Contraxia is a cold and icy planet on the outskirts of the universe boasting some less-than-desirable titles. Those who are born here often die here as dealers, high-stakes gamblers, sex workers, or find themselves champions in the illegal underground fight rings. It’s not uncommon for unsavory individuals, whether involved in intergalactic crime or abuse of power, to visit the desolate planet for ‘vacation’. Many are stranded and desperate to leave by any means necessary, as much of the life outside of these clustered cities rarely exists in the snowy mountains and violent storms. If you have money to blow and want to get away with illegal activity impossible to get away with elsewhere, Contraxia is your frozen paradise.
BULLETPOINTS RE: NATIVE CONTRAXIANS
contraxians are known for their hot-blooded behavior and lack of impulse control and typically have a poor track record when it comes to diplomacy
(see: star trek verse) they typically do not get along with their genetic cousins (vulcans) given their inability to harness logic and often make fun of them for being ‘lifeless’
it’s rare for a Contraxian to leave their home planet, but few have gone on to make names for themselves despite the stigma surrounding their kind. among the very few, Rick Galaeus went off to serve in the Starfleet/Alliance Federation and climbed the ranks to become an admiral.
they once had pointed ears, though rapid inter-species dilution has made those features less common on currently living Contraxians
some, but not all, Contraxians are psi-positive. it’s more rare to find one that has the ability to see into one’s mind than those who cannot.
BULLETPOINTS RE: UNDERGROUND FIGHT RINGS
it is not uncommon for parents looking for quick credits to sell their children to the ring-runners. ring-runners are essentially free agents that sell and promote their gladiator fighters to the underground rings. sometimes children can be as young as nine.
due to poor contraxian tempers, many of these fights result in death.
outsiders are allowed to enter if they feel they’ll win. they usually do not.
the betting pool is among the most popular ways to win money on contraxia. the pot can sometimes take people into high-status riches.
winners are often showered with money (that is grossly diluted through the ring-runners’ shares) and are given involuntary champion’s markings. these tattoos signify great victories and the status of seasoned fighters who have yet to die. champions are allowed to choose their own designs unless otherwise owned by a specific ring-runner.
* note: this is my wildly divergent interpretation of this mcu-based planet that i have repurposed for star trek/mass effect verses and you can take it up with my publicist if you are confused as to why my dumbass has unknowingly created an entire universe by absolute happenstance
