Document One - Run The Block (Run The Block/Small Steps, 2016)
Way back in 2011, as a high school freshman I found myself enchanted by the wonky sounds of dubstep, glued to acts like Skrillex and Feed Me and Bassnectar, but also intrigued by relative unknowns, such as Document One. I’ve had their Forgive Me/Closer EP in my library longer than almost anything else, and it was always an interesting piece to me, just how inventive it remained in the world of stale, overused patches and ideas that quickly arose near the end of that year. Unfortunately, I heard almost nothing else from them. Their social media presence was almost nonexistent and they faded into the back of my mind.
Well, it’s fair to say that they’ve come roaring back, and for good reason. They’ve ditched the dubstep sound of old and embraced a jazz-infused drum and bass sound that is proving absolutely infectious, as every release since last summer has practically taken the DnB world by storm. This cut is no different and as someone who’s a sucker for upright bass, this one scratches an itch I’ll always have. Definitely don’t miss it, and make sure you hit them up on Facebook for future releases.

TWO FOR TUESDAY!
Two for Tuesday this week is being dominated by the genre that is Drum & Bass. There seems to be a lot getting released this month and I am happy to show it off. First Whatcha-McCall-It introduced Hospitality 2015 compilation and now the Technique 15 years LP is coming out (Feb 22nd). The LP includes 16 brand new exclusive tracks from the label created by Drumsound & Bassline Smith.
This track by Australian Producer Spectrum entitled 'Say Goodbye,' is extremely catchy and ready to make your Tuesday feel like a Friday.
Apologies about the video being cut from Frictions show, but it's so hot that there's no other recording online yet.
Enjoy!
