worldbuilding!!!!
wilbur's world (these will all have numbers and names later i'm just too lazy to do it now lmao) was thrown into an apocalypse by an accidental brush with another world. the two worlds momentarily merged and crossed over, leading to some pretty horrifying distortion that destroyed the other world entirely and twisted wilbur's into something unrecognizable. (the world and its monsters are gonna be based on a nightmare i had years ago. this should scare you.) if i had to pin a percentage down, only about 15% of the original population survived the initial brush and now, about a decade or so later, it's only managed to climb back to 20% its previous size.
