an example of an interesting installation that holds digitised vibes that can represent the technological realm, with ‘computer graphics’ using a DCI-4K DLP projector, computer and speakers. this gives me the idea of using sound within my projected installation, an interesting way of submerging the viewer into a different reality through my work. an audiovisual installation

— enter a digital scanner to leave, for a brief moment, a floating image of your digital avatar
data and big data are now all around us and we generate them as we move from one website to another, or on social networks. this data can reflect our behaviour, interests, moods and thus form a digital imprint of ourselves. with each new surf session, this footprint is enhanced with additional data that creates a new snapshot of our lives over and over again
an inspirational installation that helps me to envision the installation i would love to create. this is an interesting way of connecting the visitor and the elements depicted in the exhibition. this is an interactive installation that creates the digital imprint of an individual visually on the screen. a temporary imprint that represents the sheer quantity of data that creates a version of you within a digital realm. there is a large scanning band that goes up and down in a loop to add to this aesthetic
within my project i aim to create a technological realm and this is a great representation of how i have envisioned the colours and vibe of the installation. i would also love for mine to be interactive too, to really represent to the audience that this is an issue that effects them individually, that effects us all. it’s easy for us to remain separate from the issue at hand, believing that it doesn’t effect us, but it really, truly does
3d scan attempt 1
this was my first time at creating my 3d scan of myself, one that actually looked like me and took the form of a human being... a digital being. this here is a JPG, an image depiction of how the software created the 3d scan of me. this was saved alongside the 3d scan file onto my usb and i find this such an interesting image. this is how the digital software understands to make the image in whole a 3d scan, an interesting insight into the workings of the technological world. this represents an image that only the computer would understand, compared to us, becoming deeply embedded in a technological realm where these devices understand imagery more than us sometimes. it’s created an interesting kaleidoscope effect, something that would be fun to play around with re-creating myself
