TeamLab “Resonating Life which Continues to Stand”

The resonating ovoids continue to stand wherever they are. The ovoids continue to stand even if they are pushed over by waves, blown by the wind, or pushed by people. When an ovoid is pushed over, it rises back up on its own and shines brightly as it produces a tone. The light and tone continues to resonate out to other ovoids and trees nearby.
If a wave of light comes from afar, it signifies the presence of people, waves, or wind there. People gain a heightened sense of awareness of the existence of other people in the same space and the environment.
When it is quiet and the wind is not blowing and the people nearby are not interacting with the ovoids, their lights begin to flicker slowly.

Exploring acclaimed contralto Marian Anderson's career, the Museum of the City of New York has created a digital installation, photograph, and digitize a collection of twelve of her garments—11 concert gowns and one coat dating from the early 1930s to the late 1950s—that were donated to the museum in 1993 by Bette Midler to help preserve the singer’s legacy as both a venerated classical vocalist and a symbol of progress in the advancement of civil rights.
The Museum of the City of New York lets you admire the gowns and the voice of Marian Anderson. She wore these to give concerts from the 1930s through the 1950s and called them her “uniforms.” You can see the gowns, learn some of the larger history of race in America, and watch some videos.
My favorite dress is the second from the left: the pale peach which has a train and back draping in powder blue as well by A. B. Nordiska Kompaniet of Stockholm from 1934. Such a graceful creation.
