my headphones and my laptop claim to be connected via bluetooth, and the pause/play button on my headphones does in fact work, but for some reason they're not connecting for sound??
I have my laptop set to have sound off unless I have headphones connected, and it's currently got sound off. If I turn sound on, it comes out the laptop speakers.
WHY??
i missed yesterday 11 february 2021 (lockdown 3.0, day 38) due to technical difficulties. my trusty little macbook was throwing a fit about charging and so it just went dark for the evening. this morning the cable was acceptable again and that’s why i can write this post.
this is all worrying because even though my computer is over 5 years old it’s still working really well otherwise and i don’t want to have to get a new one. i will look into getting the battery replaced (or probably doing it myself because getting it done the official way is going to cost me my firstborn at least (joke’s on them, i’m not sure there ever will be one)) and in the meantime i’m hoping a new charger will do the trick.

this is part of a daily practice i’m encouraging myself to do for the duration of the third UK lockdown. i’m taking some time to note where i am each day, letting myself sit with what comes up without judgement or pressure. feel free to join in!

So I’m trying to print out my envelopes for this year’s New Years Cards, and my printer keeps trying to print them in portrait instead of landscape... and then after I yell at it, and call it stupid, it tells me it can’t find the driver... Be nice to your electronics, people. They’re as confused and stressed as we are.
Anyway, here’s the design I came up with for the front of this year’s cards (The new year is the one holiday everyone I know celebrates in common, so that’s what I’ve made cards for, the last few years). I worked on it while listening to @realphilosophytube‘s Shakespeare Stream (What can I say? Iambic pentameter is contagious):

I may end up opening writing commissions sooner than I thought. My laptop is starting to fail me and I suspect I’ll have to replace it within a few months.

@ followers who have twitter accounts: is twitter being all weird and locking you guys out of your accounts too?? bc i tried tweeting earlier and it said it looked like automated activity and i got locked out
i mean i got twitter to text me a code to unlock it but when i tried tweeting again it locked me back up. and this happened another two times before twitter said it was too many attempts and now it just won't let me back in :/
i mean i'm seeing some other people post about it but??? there are still tweets appearing on my feed so obvs it's not affecting anyone. but it would be nice to have confirmation that like, my account hasn't been hacked or whatever
I swear technology hates me these days. First my computer loses all my data, and now, my phone decides it needs to be restored meaning I'll lose what music I did manage to save. Who wants to send me burned CDs?!
