Technology evangelists typically promote every alleged advance as a positive. They say anything that makes life easier and more convenient must be a good thing. The apps' popularity proves their virtue. This argument might have some substance in the outer suburbs, with more limited food choices and longer distances to cover between homes and shops. But, as it transpires, that's not where people are using food delivery apps. Roy Morgan research published last year found use of these apps was much higher among millennials. In particular, they were popular with a group Roy Morgan dubbed "Metrotechs" – young, single, well-educated, inner-city professionals.
