After a couple months of being trapped in the broken heart of my dead MacBook, peace be with her, I got my music collection rescued this week by a nice couple of people between Covent Garden's Apple Store and Tottenham Court Road's tech-badlands!
The music collection I've slowly built up over 17 years, and has been the background soundtrack of my life for that whole time. Getting cut off from that was a huge blow, I hadn't realized how huge until I spent this entire morning with Shuffle on.
Shuffle's been real excellent to me, pretty much moving back and forth through 3-or-4-year spans of my life, while remaining relevant to what all else is going on today and in the next month. It's like I've gotten an old friend back after I thought I'd never see them again, equal parts catching up, reminiscing, and talking out issues swirling about right now.
If my music collection was embodied, I would cuddle them all day.
