Update
I’ve been hit and miss. Basically I feel like my motivation factor has been waning. I started going to the gym last week. I went 3 or 4 days (they run together so I can’t recall). The day after my first day was not good. I had a hard time moving my arms, but then something great happened. My shoulder pain was gone. I’ve had a sore shoulder for like 2 months. Nothing really terrible, just a twinge of pain when I moved it in certain ways. 1 day at the gym and it started to fade.
This week I’ve made bad food choices on my days off from work. The results are obvious.
Starting Weight: 309
Previous Weight: 300
Current Weight: 304 D’OH!
Neck: 18.5 inches
Waist: 55 inches
Hips: 52 inches
I don’t have any starting measurements so these will be what I compare. My arms and legs still need to get measured as well.
This week I’ve gone to the gym Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday. I have plans to go Friday. Wednesday I did my DDP Yoga since I didn’t hit up the gym. I’m trying to get my days to line up better so I have more consistency.
I’m getting my food for work planned out more in advanced. I’ll do a better job keeping this blog updated so I can hopefully start posting before and after photos.
Update
So I didn’t really stick to updating this blog as much as I had hoped. So I’m getting back in the saddle again.
I’m currently at 300 lbs. I’ve been as low as 296, but I keep hovering.
Starting Weight: March 2015 309
Current Weight: June 25 2015 300
Down: 9 pounds.
So what exactly am I doing? I don’t really know. I started doing the 30 day squat and ab challenge as just something to see what I can do. I have a coworker I talked into doing it with me, but I’m having to try to motivate her too much. Maybe it’ll kick into gear with her and keep me from giving up.
Next week I start training. My Wine and Dine Half Marathon at Walt Disney World is almost 4 months away. I haven’t really ran since I did my Tinkerbell run in the second week of May. So I really need to get off the ball and start training. Since Texas has decided to be a hellfire during summer, this will mean a lot of early morning, post work runs or going to the gym and the dreaded treadmill *shudder*.
I talked my girlfriend into signing up for her first 10k at the Star Wars Half Marathon weekend in January, but unfortunately, she isn’t much of a get up early and work out person. She’s eager to train, but we really need to get on the same page for that. I think it’ll be awesome when we both cross that finish line together.
As for my training methods? I’m going to stick to the Jeff Galloway method. Run-walk intervals. It’s gotten me this far, and I think I can tweak it and improve my time. For all my races this year, I’ve mainly stuck to a 20s run 60s walk interval. My hopes is that if I can stick to it from Day 1, I can go to a 30s run 45s walk. My calculations say that I could end up around the 13 min mile pace, which is right about where I want to be for November. His program has me running Tuesdays and Thursdays with a long run on Saturday.
I got a nutrininja for my birthday. I’m so stinking excited for this. Clearly fruits and veggies weren’t a huge part of my meal plan, so now I’m excited about getting up in the morning and making a somewhat delicious smoothies for breakfast instead of possibly eating nothing. I need to figure out a way to take these to work so I can have a mid night snack before my dinner at 2-3 am. There are literally a hundred recipes I want to try. I’m hoping this change in my eating habits will help out.
Yoga? Well I haven’t really done that. I don’t know why. I feel like I can’t be motivated to work out 30 min at home, yet I think I can just go to the gym for an hour. I need to recalibrate my thinking and get back to work on working out in some shape or form.
That’s all for now. Stay tuned for my beginning photos, food updates, and all the other weird stuff I do.
