So this is a soul funk beat set to a musical.. its not unusual 

but when its performed at a traditional Cantonese Opera house, with the majority of listeners who does experience a musical, soul funk western beat and song in Mandarin, that it will be a challenge.

While listened to this song now its still a tune creatively made.

Maria Cordero is a Philippines singer who could get into the Canto Pop scene in the 80s, which is a very unlikely case where the music scene has been dominated by Chinese artists / performers.

Her performance is a hybrid from Tina Turner and Aretha Franklin, singing Cantonese song, that gives a very strong Bitter, Blues and Soul flavour to the Cantonese songs.

Not only that, she gained her fame right from the release of this 4 songs EP, three of them become Canto Pop classics.

One of them is a straight blues number, sung with her soul / rock voice
