So i was wondering, do you have some headcanons about Teddy? He's my fav and i don't like the idea of him being pictured as the classic jerk who can only show of, i think that his character can give more than that

I agree with you 100%. Teddy is one of those characters that deserved more development and a quality backstory.

In this fanbase we have obviously been talking a lot about how difficult and hard Zick’s life must have been: being told by his own mother that his father was dead/missing since he was a child, not being allowed to discover his true nature… His own family let him believe he was crazy for seeing monsters for years. But we tend to forget that Teddy’s life wasn’t any easier.

Yeah, his parents never hided the truth from him, but did that really make his childhood happier than Zick’s? I don’t think so.

In the TV series his father was transformed into a statue by Magnacat. He had to see his father like that for… how many years? 7? Even more? And you could think that in the comic book the situation was a little bit better, since he could talk to him and all that because he had only been miniaturized. But, do you remember the frustration Zick felt in issue #11 when he heard his dad complaining about how he couldn’t be a real father for him due to his state? Well, imagine having to live situations like this on a daily basis, which is probably what happened to Teddy and his family.

And that’s not all. How would you feel knowing that your father is a traitor? Knowing that all of this horrible situation is mostly his fault. His hero, his biggest role model failed him. 

I’m not saying that his tragic backstory justifies him being mean and rude to other people. But Teddy is definitely not a jerk who can only show off. Most of it is just a mask, a wall he had to build around himself so nobody else could harm him anymore. I wouldn’t be surprised if he had some kind of PTSD.

I don’t know if all of this counts as a headcanon, but I hope it answered your question in some way XD
