Why do people get so worked up when we state the canonical fact that Nick was brainwashed into Satanism by his family/his father and that he didn't originally want to be that way, even after he inscribed Tommy's name? The fact that we saw him during this night in the summer camps regret it?! We see him searching for as many people as possible. Vomiting at the sight of the bodies. Telling Ziggy, his voice full of regret, that he let many people die tonight, but not her. You know that doesn't change the fact that he chose to kill people and became worse as he got older? Nick is still a monster with his own choices. But being a monster and making those choices were partly shaped by his upbringing. That's like... a fucking fact? It doesn't change what he did and that it's wrong. It just makes him more complex than the simple villain everyone tries to portray him as. But these days, it seems like people are scared of the idea of complexity in villains. You guys piss me off.
