Who wants to help me drink this now-legally-obtained bottle of wine?
with a little help from my friends II olive/teddy
"Dammit," Olive murmured as she flicked the light switch in her apartment up and down, the lights remaining off despite her efforts. The electric bill was to be paid in full yesterday, a fact that had slipped the girl's mind and that she was suffering the consequences of now. Inching slowly across the dark room, she slid one foot in front of the other, feeling around in front of her before fully committing to the step to prevent herself from stepping on and crushing something. She finally made her way to where she hoped to go: the dresser in the corner, and felt for the drawer handle. Bingo. Pulling it open, she searched for the solitary candle and lighter that ought to be there, finding the job to be a bit easier as her eyes adjusted to the little light from the neon sign of the pawn shop across the street filtering in through the window. Her meticulous search turned up empty-handed, however, as she had seemed to misplace the items, as she so often did. Letting out another quiet curse, the girl resigned herself to the fact that she would have to go out alone and purchase more to replace the ones she'd lost.
She managed to cross the room safely as before, and grabbed her wallet off of the side table that was right by the door before stepping out into the dimly lit hallway of her apartment building. The small brunette rubbed her eyes sleepily as she trudged down the hall, not quite looking where she was going, and gasped when she walked right into a figure by the stairs. "Oh s-sorry!" She stammered apologetically, stifling a yawn. "I didn't- I mean, I wasn't watching where I was going. My fault."
