Wanda rolled her eyes at another excited gasp her room mate just made when Tony made yet another complicated trick on his broom. Or something like that, because young witch wasn’t paying attention. She was trying to read a script for their potions class. Not that she needed to, but rereading the recipes she knew by heart was still more exciting than watching some stupid quidditch game. She was there only because she had promised this to Alice some time prior.
“He’s so dreamy!” Alice exclaimed and sent him a kiss, just as at least dozen other girls, believing Tony was smiling just at them.
“Yes, fascinating,” Wanda mumbled, not even raising her eyes from the text, making some pencil notes on the side.
“You aren’t even looking,” Alice said reproachfully. Wanda didn’t replied to that and just turned the page. Not that she disliked quidditch that much, but there was a better chance for a snowflake in hell than for her to join the choir of overexcited girls praising Tony fucking Stark. In her eyes he was a pompous asshole and his friends were even worse. Also, they played against Slytherin so she had the occasion to ignore another teeth-grinning asshole, Vincent Blackwood. Wanda had to give Stark one thing, he was a duchebag, but he wasn’t evil. Vincent at the other hand wasn’t even hiding his intentions. Coming form an old family and bashing all he didn’t consider equal, he openly praised Voldemort’s ideas. Sad to say, he was a dream son in low for Wanda’s father, who encouraged this relationship despite his daughter’s furious protests.
A loud roar of cheering voices made her flinch and finally look at the game. Stark was making rounds with a snitch in his raised fist, warming up the crowd even more. Wanda closed the book and sighed. As much she was glad they won, she knew he wouldn’t shut up about it for another week.
An hour later Wanda tried to sneak into the dormitory without being dragged into the celebratory mess in the common room. As always in such occasions, it didn’t work because Alice tugged her away from the door in her everlasting yet failed attempts to socialize her friend with the rest.
“Congratulations, I guess,” Wanda said with a forced smile and raised her glass, hoping to go as soon as possible.
