In the 1970's, the animated Betty and Veronica found themselves starring in The Archie Show. After that show ended, they tried to reinvent themselves by acting in more mature roles. Betty starred in a segment of the Heavy Metal movie as the warrior-woman Taarna. It took Veronica a few more years to land the role of Teegra in the movie Fire and Ice. Both movies were huge hits and they both won Oscars for their performances.
