@carlsonycung huge issue tbh! I've seen it happen a lot with my dove cameron gifs - my suggestion is putting your url on your gifs in the corner or something esp 500px ones bc those sites like ~ teen dot com ~ use those ones without permission
that’s true...but i hate punishing the masses for what one group of people are doing, and at the same time, i hate adding another process to my gif making routine. it seems like so much work to add a watermark when these websites, run by professionals, should have the good sense to 1) ask, 2) credit if they don’t. instead they act like GIFs are public property. and for the most part, once my GIFs are out there, I kinda let people go nuts with them. My only real “rules” are credit if you repost them en masse and don’t post them in a photoset tagged “ryan newman” (because then the gif shows up in the gif search and it attributes the gif to the wrong person). but there’s a difference in that....one is for free. for fans by fans. i can’t abide people making money off of my gifs when not even i make money off my gifs. and i’m not saying i should; i gif ryan as a hobby, i’m using copyrighted material, and i’m not reselling these things. but i know blogging and news sites are. and it’s so frustrating, because how do you approach the topic of “either compensate and credit me for my gifs or don’t use them”? how do you even approach that lol. what’s really infuriating about teen.com is they try to credit, but they don’t do it properly. these people are professional journalists, and they can’t find the time to make sure they’re sourcing they original link? example. you can see my gif of ryan from the thundermans, but they didn’t source me...they sourced some gif aggregating site (which i don’t like either, because they don’t give proper credit.) in some passive aggressive attempt to get credit back, you can see me in the comments thanking them for using my gif, but it’s...really messed up. we shouldn’t have to jump through hoops for adults to stop taking advantage.
I’ve seen a lot of people talking about the Shelley Hennig interview teen.com published, I personally think it’s a load of shit. I know you’re thinking she likes Shelley Hennig/Malia she’s bias, that’s why I’m going to explain why I don’t like teen.com. I should say I don’t trust written interviews there is too much scope for misinterpretation, I prefer knowing that the words actually came out of their mouth. On the top right we have a recent article (http://www.teen.com/2016/02/28/random-stuff/teen-wolf-stiles-stilinski-lydia-martin-stydia-memes-gifs/) teen.com published supporting Stydia, I know they’re written by different people. However it does link back to the Shelley Hennig interview, they also made it seem like she’s the only one who ships Stalia. The articles seem supportive if you just read the titles that however is not the case. The Stalia article makes Shelley Hennig look like an idiot while the Stydia article supports Stydia. However the main reason I don’t like teen.com and don’t trust the Shelley Hennig interview is because of an article they did on Kaya Scodelario ( http://acesams.tumblr.com/post/140148601882 ). I found it to be very sexist and offensive. The both to picture should explain why. Sorry about the long rant it’s just been annoying me for a while.
TOM SAID HE’S DATE PARIS HILTON BUT DUMP EMMA WATSON. I AM SO DISAPPOINTED.
It’s an interview from 2008 but still so disappointed. I love watching interviews I forgot about
One major qualm from the PLL fandom? The fact that Emily and Alison just can't seem to get their s*** together! #TeamEmison y'all!
