Inhale. burn. exhale. I'm alive. As alive as the birds as they sing their morning songs. Alive as the small fish swimming down this creek. Inhale, burn, hold. Hold and feel this burn, remind yourself that you are alive, you are living a life with no plan- exhale. Hold yourself close, the sun's rays aren't here yet. Become your own warmth. Inhale, burn, burn. Burn until you become the ash, until your thoughts and the smoke become one. You can't outrun this, this is it. Exhale. Was there ever an interest in getting better? Will you stay this way forever? Inhale. How long can I keep this going? How could God put me on an earth I wasn't meant to thrive in? God do you hear me now? Burn. With each puff I'm closer to you Lord you can't ignore me anymore. My voice will be heard across the valleys, my anger, my love, all my passion i'll burn like this cigarette. I'll remind everyone I'm alive!!
